Suspended because of bad timing? WTF?

The blogs are buzzing this morning over an Alabama news station's Twitter billboard that proved to have nothing but bad timing. The following tweet was displayed alongside a picture of the station's anchors. Two people were allegedly suspended over the incident; is anyone else going WTF?

Rape is never a laughing matter, however if this had been Twitpic-ed I would have chuckled and moved on with my web browsing. Is it really worthy of becoming a Twitter trending topic with Mashable declaring it an epic fail?

This looks like a success to me. Didn't your parents tell you that the time to worry is when people stop talking about you??
