Nerds are uniting!!

The New York Times posted this awesome article today highlighting the fact that kids need to be taught that computers can be fun and creative vs. strictly technical.

I definitely agree; when I was in school (many, many, moons ago) a career in computers pretty much meant social suicide. Teachers described it as being a strictly technical career that garnered high pay, but negated a social life. Yeah, the word no, and social life spoken in the same sentence to a tween or teen will instantly end their attention span.

I just wonder if a school's curriculum can keep up with the ever-changing industry. Kinda makes you think ...

Anyone who thinks computers are merely technical never played a Final Fantasy or Legend of Zelda video game.
