<editorsnote> Hi, I'm Jen Friel, and we here at TNTML examine the lives of nerds outside of the basements and into the social media, and dating world.  We have over 75 peeps that write about their life in real time. (Real nerds, real time, real deal.) Sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the stories!! </editorsnote>

Damn you Trident Layers

Why Trident Layers, why oh why, did you miss the CORE ingredient in running a successful web 2.0 campaign; the SOCIAL factor!?!

@Japman_Bajaj and I were having quite the lovely discussion on it this morning.
He pointed out that there was no engagement. They tweeted the same thing over, and over all day. Disaster of epic proportions and I could not have agreed more. Here they spent an obscene amount of money on a full page ad in USAToday touting their use of Twitter, and they failed miserably.

Wake.
Up.
People.

Marketing has changed, merely thinking outside of the box is not enough. You need to ask the box "how does it feel?"

Open the conversation to your customers.
Listen to your customers.
Engage your customers.

Don't worry about it though if you don't get a chance. I'm sure your competition is ready! Are you listening Big Red? I'm thinking about changing up my gum preference.
