A Very Angry #Nerd
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan
Fuck fuck fuck. I'm pretty fucking upset. Let me tell you why.
Today, someone called my grandma and grandpa saying that they were me and that they needed money. I don't want to go into details of the scam, but they knew my family nick name and my grandparents' nick names. My 95 year old grandma and grandpa grabbed their walkers, took a taxi to Western Union, and were preparted to wire the money. The clerk at Western Union reasoned with my grandparents and opened up their minds to the possibility of a scam. I got a call from my grandpa around noon (which is weird because they never call me) asking if I had called them from out of state asking for money. I told them no and that I was at work. I didn't have much time to think about the whole ordeal until I talked to my dad after work. He filled me in on the details. This wasn't just a few bucks, this was thousands of dollars that almost got sent. My mom was hysterical from the events, and my dad like me, is pissed. I love my grandparents to death. The last thing they need at 95 years old is to think that I'm in some kind of trouble on the other side of the country. You could call me a pacifist, but you don't fuck with my friends or my family. Especially my grandparents. I would break every bone in this person's body if I knew who it was. My parents seem to be conviced it's someone I know due to their knowledge of nick names and such. I don't know though. The only people who know that information are friends I've had from before highschool and honestly, there aren't too many friends from back then. There are only two people who have that information, but I would rule them out. Plus, they wouldn't know my grandpaents' real names. They only go by nick names. Anyway, I just had to get this off my chest. Maybe I'm overreacting from working 8 days straight. I think not. I'm upset, but I'll be okay.
Has anyone had anything like this happen to friends or family? I don't know if there's a scam going around or if there's any other way to get that information. Very weird. Let me know.
Don't forget to follow me on Twitter and friend me on Facebook!

This is a really common scam. When things like this go down there is a division of the FBI that you should call and report it to. I will do some research for you and see what I can find. Unfortunately old people get prayed on all the time since they have disposable cash and will do anything for their family. It is amazing that the Western Union clerk stepped up and did something - that is sooooo super nice. Good luck, friend, and I would be over the top pissed, too.
that's farking evil I hope those people get burned in the face with acid
Hope you actually read these comments LOL This is the craziest thing I have heard of in a while. I know there are lots of scams out there but for them to have that much personal information about u is insane. It would totally drive me paranoid. I am very much the same as u in regards to being a loving & caring person. I 've learned not to be angry at the world & to give people the benifit of the doubt. I am very forgiving but the one thing EVERYONE knows about me is u can say or do whatever u want to me (Ive always been the strong one) but NEVER mess with my family or friend that I pretty much consider family anyway. I will gladly go to jail to prevent or stop someone from hurting or attempting to cause pain the people I hold dear. So if this ever were to happen to me...lord help that person!
BTW...on a more positive note....ROCK ON to your grandparents for being in ur life for so long. I want to live for 100 years...& I will....oh yes I will LOL Well my heart goes out to ur family & Im glad everything turned out alright. It could have been way worse. Chin up, u & ur family must have some good Karma so keep smiling. It kills me to see vids of u sad. The emotion bleeds through the screen into anyone's heart that watches. I swear its like watching the "Light of Zartha".
Agent Kay: When you get sad it always seems to rain.
Laura: Lots of people get sad when it rains!
Agent Kay: It rains because you're sad baby.
YES...Im totally an undercover nerd & geek & damn proud of it. Keep Smiling...I like Sunshiny Days ;-) ~ Tweek
Im soo sorry to hear that Morgan. Thats just aweful. I hope everything turns out ok and they find the person (s) that did this to your grandparents. Its a shame we live in a world of hatefulness and heartache, and people think that its ok to pray on the elderly just because they are elderly. Sounds like you have wonderful grandparents that are willing to go that extra mile just for you. Family is everything to me also, I would HURT someone if they ever hurt my family (you included). Take care sweetie, give my love to your mom and dad. Always and forever <3
Thank you guys so much for your support. Apparently this has been a "thing" that has been happening a lot as of late. I talked to my dad this morning and he told me that there was an article in the paper about it. People are hacking Facebook accounts among other things to get personal information. Sad, but true. I'm thankful that my grandparents didn't lose any money! Again, thank you all for your support!
