#CoolFact: Harvard was supposed to have a Hoar House

OMG I love my family. They are all of the BEST kinds of crazy you could possibly imagine ...

My mother's maiden name is HOAR - yep, means "White" in Gaelic and someone, somewhere, along the way forgot to change it when they came over the boat. That being said, we actually have a super super super famous family. They were the pre-Kennedys, and my Aunt Lizzie used to totally kick it with Henry David Thoreau and Emerson back in the day; they were classmates. Actually, Emerson's mama mia died in my aunt's arms. Super awesome ... and totally google-able.

Also, my great great great whatever grandfather was also President of Harvard. Tradition dictates that all of the Presidents in Harvard get either a house or hall named after them ... except of course, for good old Leonard. Leonard instead has a bust or some sort of statue of him. What were they going to call it, the Hoar House? OOOHH the field day Yale would have. *insert snotty chuckle* chuckle chuckle chuckle

So, needless to say - the stories and jokes in my family are just totally over the top. My brother and his lady friend are moving in together - and she has a cat. So there was a reference at the table tonight that my brother was going to be putting in a cat house in the guest bedroom of his condo - which was totally fitting being the son of a Hoar. My mom chimes in and without skipping a beat goes, what Michael, you're not in the mood to start pimping out your pussy??

I swear to you, I have never laughed so hard in all of my life. Thanks, Mom!
