Coke Ad Rip Off? #CokeFail
Poor Coke ... first Pepsi gets so much attention for NOT advertising in the Super Bowl - now Coke is being accused of being a complete rip off.
Here's a side by side comparison of the ads (please note the content has been edited):
This just saddens me all around, and further proves what is wrong with "traditional" advertising - it is completely VOID of any lingering creativity!!! I can't even remember the last time I saw an ad that really wowed me. Online content is so fresh, and so relevant that it makes commercials seem archaic by comparison. I swear, I remember seeing an ad almost identical to this even in the 90s. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Way to waste a crap ton of money Coke. At least you'll get advertised on some relevant blogs, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Time to go back to the drawing board Coca-Cola.

I actually can remember the last time an ad wowed me: the Honda Crossfire ads that were running on "Chuck" earlier this year. They actually used the characters from the show in the ads (not just the actors, but the characters with their names, personalities, etc.) and had an ongoing story to them. I normally quickly fast forward through ads, but these became part of the show for me.
The funny thing is, the first time I saw one, I almost fast forwarded through it, but the appearance of the characters on screen made me stop, because I thought the show had started up again. It was a brilliant way for Honda to make DVR viewers pause and rewind, rather than keep skipping ahead.
NICE!!!!!!! I'll have to check it out on youtube!
