Facebook Redesign ... Facebook Redesign ... FINALLY!!!

Effin FINALLY man ... I leave my trusty internet for a whole four hours, and RIGHT THEN *POOF* I get the Facebook redesign. ahhhhhh life ... 

Anywho, its pretty gnarly. I haven't bopped around on too many other sites to see what peeps are saying about the redesign so I can say this is an honest assessment after playing around with it for 5 full minutes. 

1) MUCH wider navigation... mmmm me gusta, after all its about girth right?? =)

2) Video Advertisements ... Saw my first one for BlackBerry yesterday ... a sign of times changing from their standard square of wasted ad space. Facebook has amazing analytics via Insight, but it fell on deaf ears if the ads weren't penetrating the end users the same way. hehe marketing is all about penetration ... 

3) It's pretty ... I'm loving the general aesthetics. It just feels prettier!!! Like everything has its place, and it has an overall much "cleaner" feel. 

4) The news feed reminds me of Twitter. I don't know why, but when I first looked at it "Twitter" immediately popped into my brain. It seems more like a destination point now, rather than a pain in the butt, secondary feature. I feel like I might actually care about my Facebook feed now ... 

5) Events cleaned up!! Dude, I might actually start checking out my events again. It's MUCH more organized ... that helps with my OCD. 

I love too how they have a guide to the redesign acting as a buffer to the mass redesign hysteria that we have seen in the past. People like to be guided through things, told this is what changed ... and why ... and even if 5% of us actually take the time to read it - knowing its there provides the comfort we all need to move about in our Facebooking lives.
