There was a time when Myspace was the no 1 source for new music or to discover unknown talents. The traffic ranks are still solid but if you ask anybody it seems like nobody is checking Myspace anymore. So bands and artists have to find a new way to reach new audiences and spread their work. Therefor the possibilities of Chatroulette come in handy. 

The french band I AM UN CHIEN!! discovered this new platform and created a music video strictly with Chatroulette.

This approach has some major benefits. First of all the costs for shooting a clip are zero. Then, you can get the live reaction of a completely unprepared crowd and see how long they'll listen to your music or if they like it. And of course it gives you the opportunity to show your music to an audience all over the world that would probably never discover your music (or do you know any French Rock band?). It could even be a chance for popular artists to try out new songs. Imagine you wrote a song of which you're not totally convinced: play it to total strangers and wait for their reactions. I think this could be a great way to test your songs.

To be honest, I've never heard of this band before and I don't know if they're planning to do more crazy stuff like that, but I think it's a very cool opportunity for bands and maybe in the future we'll see more of them using Chatroulette.
