#NerdWar: Kirk vs Picard

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's According to Adam

There's nothing better than a good nerd war, and we've got one breaking out on Twitter right now. One of my buddies and former co-workers sent out this tweet earlier today:

Ummm... what?! Everyone knows James T. Kirk is superior!

Actually, to be fair, no one really "knows" which captain is better (note: Kirk), which makes this one of the great Nerd Wars of our time. I know the philosophy of Talk Nerdy to Me Lover is "Nerds Unite", but there ARE some things that will divide even the most united nerds. Kirk vs Picard is one of those things. And in this case, I'm on Kirk's side (note: original Shatner Kirk, not new-and-unimproved Pine Kirk).

So where do you fall on the Kirk vs Picard divide? And what other nerd wars will you take sides in? Let us know in the comments.

I can settle this really easy: How long would each of them last in a battle against ISD Chimaera commanded by Grand Admiral Thrawn? I've seen some Trek vs. Wars fanfic where Picard does really well against him, but I've never seen Kirk take on Thrawn. It'd be interesting to see if Thrawn could see through Kirk's corbomite bluff. Beyond that, it depends on what you want. If you want space battles, Kirk is your guy. But if you want to try diplomacy, go with Picard.

Before I make a final decision (Kirk) I need to know how Picard responded to The Kobiyashi Maru. If he accepted the no-win scenario, then I've lost all faith in him.
