Twitter + Television = Twision

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Ponder This

Last week the Spanish TV channel Veo7 launched a show completely based on Twitter. It's hosted by Melchior Miralles and Javier Abrego who are equipped with laptops and a big screen. The audience can tweet in by using the Hashtag #veo7 and the hosts can respond to that either by tweeting or by showing the tweets on their screen. The show doesn't seem to have an agenda. The hosts just provide some headlines, letting the audience tweet in. At best the hosts can start a discussion with the tweeters. They are also showing pictures and videos that are tweeted to them.

The show aired on March 18th at midnight and had 80,000 viewers who stayed for the entire show and about 659,000 that tuned in for a while. For Spanish circumstances and considering the time of day this was not bad. In addition the hashtag #veo7 took 1st place as a trending topic in Spain.

The General Director of Veo7 promised that they will give the show a chance and that they are planing to give the users even more control by letting them choose the topics to discuss about.

Look at this site to get an impression of the show or watch the video below.
