Happy Anniversary Pac-Man and "Empire Strikes Back"

#TalkNerdytoMeLover's According to Adam

How awesome must it have been to be a nerd 30 years ago today? On May 21, 1980, the best of the six Star Wars movies, "Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" was released in U.S. theaters. By that point, it was already May 22 in Japan, and a new video game was released: Pac-Man.

Seriously? "Empire Strikes Back" and "Pac-Man" in a 24-hours span. I'd like to personally take credit for this awesomeness, since I was born 4 days earlier, and clearly the world needed my existence to unleash this two-front strike of sheer unbridled awesome.

There are going to be plenty of "Empire Strikes Back" related celebrations today, but I'm a huge fan of what Google did to celebrate "Pac-Man". If you go to Google.com today, you'll see a Pac-Man themed Google logo. If you wait about 10 seconds, or click the "Insert Coin" button, you'll hear the familiar Pac-Man theme, and you can actually play the logo!

So check it out and leave your high score in the comments. Have fun, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
