#NeverForget ... never forget what?
Alrite, I am going to go to hell for this ... but I am at least going to go a happy little camper having expressed my opinion.
So, today is 9/11. Unless you've been chillin in a bigger cave than Bin Lah Dee Dah, you know what today is. My newsfeed, and twitter feed are just clogged with "never forget" and all these deeply passionate messages of love and blah blah blah. What the hell have we done in 9 years except become DRAMATICALLY inconvenienced at the airport. Hey terrorists, if you're ever going to use a plane again ... just go private. No security check of passengers. It's totally rad.
What is it with people's obsession with death in this country?!! All we ever want to do is hold memorials, and remember the dead celebrating those who have "passed too soon." What the hell is too soon!!????
Dude, life is a terminal disease. We're all going to die. Get over it.
9/11, yes, was very tragic ... I'm from Connecticut, we knew people ... but so what. Again, we are all going to die ... what the fuck are you doing about living!!!!!!!!! We just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE to moan and groan about injustices in this world, yet we refuse to change things in our own lives. Self responsibility first and foremost!!!!!!!!!!! You have to BE the change you want to see. Life is reflective.
Again, yes - I think it is very sad what happened that day. Yes, I supported the troops, but not the war. But today, I will not sit here and mourn, I am going to CELEBRATE the day that is today. We only get 86,400 seconds today ... hell if I'm going to spend even a micro second of that feeling sad and sorry.

You're absolutely right all we do is moan & we don't do anything to change that thing that bothers us
Of course its about death. It couldn't possibly be to remember people who sacrificed themselves by running into falling buildings or chose to die rather than be a part of a terrorist act. Obviously we should spend more time working on our OKC profiles than to honor people who believed in something more than themselves. And sorry your so inconvenienced by having a few extra hash tags to skip over.
*you're
@seriously ... you're missing the point. I see what you're saying ... how can one really see any good coming from something like what happened that day. but im sorry, every single day in life is precious. and every single one of us are going to die, but so few of us focus on living. just providing a different perspective.
don't you hate that when ever you say anything about 9-11 you have to apologize a thousand times for the people that died and to their family's for fear someone might be offended. I'm offended our lives have been so upended by a terrorist attack. This country has had so many terrorist attacks and not a one of them that wasn't 9-11 got press like this because we didn't want to give those who caused us such a grievous wound the benefit of seeing us crippled. Like getting hit by a bully on the playground and not crying you don't want to give them the satisfaction. Apparently the whole america stron thing went right out the window as we all refuse to let this go. Yeah it happened but so did pearl harbor and in that case it was actually a country attacking us and not just a group of screwed up people. We remember that somberly but we don't tell people to stop everything they are doing with their lives and make sure you acknowledge that bad shit happened or else you aren't american. Lets stop treating 9-11 as an open wound cause if we keep picking at it it's never going to heal.
@saintpepsi HOLY FUCKING SHIT!! "Lets stop treating 9-11 as an open wound cause if we keep picking at it it's never going to heal." *bows*
/facepalm
You being that hot and this stupid makes my penis very confused/sad
And no, you did not get my point. I'm not just saying that because you disagree but rather because you simply missed it.
@seriously its more a matter of to each his own. i choose to celebrate life - not mourn death.
I love it - in debate class, we called it the State of the Penis.
Directions: When in a debate and you realize that you make no particular sense because your understanding of the topic is limited in depth but holds many headlines - quickly reference the State of your Penis - as this will instill compassion from those that GREATLY enjoy fart jokes and pity from those that actually just heard you make this reference.
Thanks for posting this! I didn't have the courage to actually post on my FB or blog to "get on with life" seeing all these posts about it and getting all teared up. WTF!? We need to move on! And yes, I totally agree with the fellow Kansas man saintpepsi, we gotta stop picking at the wound or it will never heal!
Know what I did today, Jen?
I went out to The Grove and watched people celebrate life.
That's how I commemorate 9-11 - too many deaths already, let's do what we can in the midst of all of this, and love being alive.
