#NerdsUnite: Introducing social media's most wanted man (#stopkony)
Wow. Wow. Wow.
I got this video yesterday on my Facebook wall, via Facebook email, Facebook chat, tweeted to me, and finally this morning in emails. It's 30 minutes long so it took me a second - but I'm only 20 minutes in and I'm already writing about it because I was so UNBELIEVABLY moved.
From start to finish this video is flawless and if this story doesn't move you to take action - check your pulse, you might not be alive.
We are all connected now in social media in a great and wonderful way, but it is in instances like this that we can use these connections to truly make an impact and no longer turn a blinds eye to problems like this. We all have voices, and now we all have platforms (via social media) where we can speak and be heard by our peers; now is a time to speak up.
Jacob is our brother, these are our sisters ... please take 30 minutes out of your morning and watch this video; it is an incredibly important message.
Remember "where you live shouldn't determine whether you live."
Please spread the word on this video nerderinos ... incredibly. incredibly. incredibly powerful stuff.
KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.
You're going DOWN KONY!!!!
#stopkony
Thank you all so so much for this video btw and for the emails, smoke signals, etc. This was such a moving film and I hope you all can RT, share, and repost the vid as well to spread the word. Namaste.

Every last voice counts and you spreading this through your community is gunna be like revenge of the nerds... Kony2012 style...
If you or anyone needs more info about Joseph Kony and Africas longest running war head over to InvisibleChildren.com. You'll be able to see what we've done in past years to create awareness, as well as start from the beginning to hear the full journey of the three San Diego boys whose lives changed course the moment they met the child soldiers.
Most importantly... Like Jason mentioned, we HAVE TO STAY ON TOP OF THIS!! This can't be a "trend of the week"... This has to trend until we have made Kony famous... Exposing him to the world to make him a household name so for once, justice can be served to the children and families who's lives have been disrupted in a disturbing fearful hell... There will be peace again.
One last thing... The 5+ years that I have had the privilege of being a part of the Invisible Children family I have learned two specific things. I won't describe them so much on my terms rather place them before you to mull over and discover what they mean to you.
1. If they're not free, we're not free... Together we are free.
2. Jump first... Fear later
I can not thank you enough for your prompt action and endearing heart.
Now let's take this m!!?erf$&@er down!!
LETS MAKE THIS FUCKER FAMOUS!!! #LOVE
I am so proud of my friends at Invisible Children for making this happen! There are more people talking about this issue today and more people who have now heard the story than there was two years ago when we drove across the nation to make the story heard - more people now than when we bombarded Oprah's studio! Thank you social media for making this story heard! And thank you for talking about it!
Tammy you were in Chicago!!!??? I was too!!
