#Solved: The Mystery of Facebook's Friend Finder

Okey dokey, so to the right of your news feed on Facebook is this little thing called Friend Finder. It's listed below the events, and above the ads ... and its intended purpose is to encourage engagement. It's like YAYY!!! We have your friends over here in this tiny box, and courtesy of the bandwagon effect, we're totally going to say they did this to get you to try it too.

However, I heard people complaining about it, and yet no one claimed to ever use it. Is this like a dirty one night stand from MySpace that we all totally had circa 2007, but have yet to admit to?? Wait, that was just me?? Damnit ... *hangs head*  I digress ...

People complain that they never used said service, yet their photo will appear on their friends wall. I'd like to say that I think you have all become victims of new marketing and packaging. *GASP!!!!* What's that?!?!

Well, nerdy lovers ... back when you first signed up for Facebook, you could search for your friends to see if they were on to add them. Even if you signed up 4 or more years ago - we pretty much all did it initally. Well, what do you think this "friend finder" really is?! It's the old version of "find your friends via email" brilliantly packaged and deliciously placed in your right hand navigation for all the world to see.

So, there you go. Feel better?
