I love me some Glee. Like love love love love love it. I get to hear some old tunes sung by characters I feel emotionally invested in. That being said, WTFFFFFF is going on with this season? Like, are you KIDDING ME?!?! None of it makes sense from week to week. They are focusing SO much on all these celebs coming on board, that they are diluting their brand to a point that it is almost unwatchable. Kid you not, I stopped in the middle of the Bieber episode last week; I couldn't handle it anymore. Still of course being in the mood to watch Glee, I popped on over to MegaVideo and scoped out the Madonna episode. EPIC!!!!! Dude, that episode was PERFECT! They integrated the music INTO the story without forgetting the actual story lines and characters. Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!
I am TWWOOOO very short seconds away from giving up on this show. Are they too caught up in their own hype to notice? What's going on guys?!!
Per Yahoo: It's been said many times that the best way to enjoy "Glee" is to just forget about the inconsistent story lines and enjoy the musical numbers and one-liners. We agree with that for the most part, but we still like to keep the producers honest by pointing out the many plot lines and characters that the show has picked up and then dropped just as quickly.
What Happened to the Sunshine?
After plenty of advance hype last summer, teenage Filipino singing sensation Charice appeared in the second season premiere, "Audition," as Sunshine Corazon, who we thought would be Rachel Berry's big new rival. But after the two nailed Lady Gaga's "Telephone" together in the ladies' room and Sunshine belted out "Listen" from "Dreamgirls" in her New Directions audition, the character was whisked away to Carmel High to join Vocal Adrenaline. Reportedly she'll be back for the final episodes of the season. If that's true, it won't be soon enough.
Eve High
Remember Jane Addams Academy, the school for troubled girls? It was a big part of the entire Sectionals arc, and the school's director, Grace (played by Eve), was even responsible for Sue Sylvester's big suspension in Season 1. How has New Directions never crossed paths with them again?
Finn's Best Friend, the Paraplegic
When Rachel's sore throat got her down in Season 1, Finn decided to teach her a Very Special Lesson by introducing her to his quadriplegic friend, Sean. Not only did Finn describe him as a close friend, but at the end of the episode Rachel agreed to give him singing lessons, and yet we never saw Sean again.
The Deaf School
Look, we definitely don't want another episode with the deaf choir (though we do miss their director, Dalton Rumba), but that notwithstanding, they are still one of the things "Glee" has brought up, made a big deal out of, and then forgotten about completely.
That Time the Football Team Loved Beyoncé
For all the homophobia and intolerance of everything glee club the football team loves to show, it's easy to forget that just last season they won a game by dancing to Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" on the football field, led to victory by Kurt, of all people.
Sandy Ryerson and His Community Theater
Either the populace of McKinley High is buying their drugs elsewhere, or they've all formed a secret pact to go completely radio silent on Sandy Ryerson, former glee club director and esteemed dealer to all of greater Ohio.
Shelby Corcoran, Everyone's Mom
Remember how Rachel's mother adopted Quinn and Puck's baby? No residual emotional damage for anyone from that? No jokes about how Rachel and that baby are sisters now? No? We're just not going to mention it again? OK.
That Puck Dated Mercedes
The glee club's been oh so shocked that Puck is pursuing Lauren Zizes romantically, which is easy to be if you've completely forgotten that he also dated the plus-size Mercedes in Season 1.
That Will Loves Emma
What? She marries another guy and all of a sudden he's cured? He wasn't that respectful of other people's relationships when he kissed her during her engagement to his friend Ken Tanaka, remember?
That Finn and Kurt Live Together
We haven't seen Kurt and Finn at home together since Finn's mom married Kurt's dad. Instead, Kurt hangs out with his McKinley gal pals at Rachel's place. Guess Finn and Kurt just never cross paths now that Kurt goes to a different school, even though they live in the same house.
I just got finished watching Glee ... cue Miso checkin:
Okey dokey. First off, I am obsessed with Glee. The heart, the passion, the music ... totally up my alley way over here in Cali. Loves it! Double time! That being said, I feel like the powers that be over at Glee are a bit confused. I catch myself a couple times every episode going, but where is this going? That can't be good.
I read today that they are going to be alternating the kids in and out as they graduate or move on. That makes sense, as we all saw back in the 90s what happened with Saved by the Bell. Tori anyone ... Tori??
My only question is, is can the show carry on without that bond? It's not any one of the kids, it's more about what they represent collectively. Frankly, Rachel rubs me so many of the wrong ways so many times it makes me want to scream. She's not even unlikeable to the point that she's likeable ... she seeps her way into my soul like an itch that I can't scratch. I knew soooo many of those chicks in high school, and all I have to say is, where are they now? Suck it bitch!
I digress ... so clearly they are going through some changes as a production whole. Puck is how old? And for reals - I don't know if its the long hours or partying, but he was lookin OLLLLLLDDDD this episode. Like older than old. Like clearly way too old to be in high school.
Either way, the episode overall was kinda meh. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I just overall don't know where the story is going. That is eventually going to get to the point where I just stop caring overall. But for now, the love of the music keeps me tuned in ... the numbers this week were BITCHIN!! Dude, when Quinn and Sam busted out with Time of My Life - I got chills. Literally. The music conveyed more of the story. That was what Glee did in the beginning ... I just don't really know what happened in between.
But oh yeah, if Ryan Murphy is listening ... please develop more of the Warblers. Those dudes are crazy stupid talented, and I adored their number, Hey Sister! Way super awesome.
Either way ... kinda meh. Watch it because it's new ... but don't hold your breath. It won't blow any of your doors in.
