Thank you #socialmedia! I got a dress for the #oscars!!

SOOO!!! The other day, I got the most amazeballs news that I was invited to the oscars. No, like for reals - this is like holy fucking mother of a goat that's taken off his coat while still being able to take a toke type shit. I literally, can't even explain how this is happening. I'm still homeless, and now I'm going to the oscars - talk about a moment of WTF! City bus, FTW!

Here's how it all went down ... I reached out to Spirithoods, per my nerdy buddy Damien suggesting it, and asked if they knew any dress designers, pr firms, anyone, anywhere, that could hook a sistah up! Heard back from the el duderino yesterday, sent his love, and told me he'd put some feelers out. Fast forward 12 hours later, their PR duderino, aka @maniacalmorgan, sends me an IM about something unrelated ... I tell him about the Oscars and he goes, OMG YOU HAVE TO WEAR A SPIRITHOOD! My first reaction was, really? Don't get me wrong, clearly, I am head over heels in love with their product, but I was kinda like, really ... wear my panda to the oscars? It just didn't seem right. Then he goes, we'd like to give you the Nighthawk. HOLY SHIT! I thought, that's PERFECT!!!!

See, I have this very very very very sexy like prolly need security for the way it hugs my body LBD (little black dress). It's crazy formal, and was the ONE dress that I kept on my nerdy adventure of giving everything up that I owned. ONE DRESS I kept ... didn't even think about it though for the oscars since I would need to heavily accessorize it. *INSERT SPIRITHOOD*

My dress is a lot fancier, but this will kinda give you an idea of just the general color scheme ...

This is literally the prettiest spirithood on the planet. I've seen it in person, and it'll blow your mind. It's so ornate, and intricate ... straight up PERFECTION!!

The best part is, that I am still able to be me. Dude, I kid you not, if I was rocking a floor length gown I would still wear my Vans. HAHA! I've done the Hollywood thing before. I've done loads of red carpets, and they're rad for some peeps ... certainly appeased my ego back in the day, but I'm over it. Like incredibly over it. Just SUPPPERRRRRRR stoked to be able to share this experience with you all, AND get to feel more like myself since I'll still get to rock a spirithood.

Wow. Wow. Wow. See! Told you I didn't have to worry! Worrying is such a wasted emotion in life. Things just are, and life just is.

Dude, I'm homeless but not without a home. Broke but not broken ... and getting a whole lot of everything done! Take your passion, and make it happen nerds!!! There could not POSSIBLY be a GREATER time to be alive. Ever. ever. ever. ever. ever. Go build your personal brand!! NOW! Like right right right now.

One night on #FourLoko

Dude ... wow, tried FourLoko last night. Um yeah. Have you guys heard of it? Check this article out, it sums it up pretty well. 12% alcohol, plus a shit ton of caffeine.

It all started off innoncently enough. Was kicking it with @bryceless and Alex. I've been so unbelievably exhausted the last few days from so much going on, Bryce said, why not try FourLoko? Alex piped up and said that it was dangerous, and was banned from the side effects. Of course the SECOND someone says it has crazy life altering effects and needs to be banned, I am going to try it. HAHA! For real ... thank you FDA for the most brilliant advertising ever.

Bryce went out and bought it, as it is still legal in California ... and the night began. Dude, I had the orange one, and I kid you not ... it's only 3 dollars and the most yummy in my tummy thing on the planet.

Bryce and I split the can in about 15 minutes (as we had to hop in a cab to go to a house party) ... and holy fucking shit ... I wanted to run a marathon while at the same time bask in the buzz. HAHAHAH!! OMGGGGG its amazing. Bryce completely lost his mind. He's not an energy drinker ... and I swear people were asking if he broke house rule number 7 ...

 

He was tweeking something FIERCE!

FourLoko is definitely awesome ... but it's no joke. You have to be careful. It not only gets you very drunk, it gives you a CRAPTON of energy!! I'm really glad we split the one can, dude, that's like downing an entire bottle of wine to yourself ... and oh yeah it tastes like candy!!! WHHHAATTT!!! Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Definitely explored in EXTREME moderation.

Oh yeah! And my @spirithoods were a BIG BIG BIG hit!! I gave Alex the red wolf, and she LOVEEDD IT!

She's so adorable, she goes - I get it now. You just have to wear it to understand how cool it is. I was like, yep! Welcome to the BEST PARTY EVVEERRRRR!!! For reals, SPIRITHOODS need to be illegal. Good lord I love mine more than Taco Tuesdays at Cabo Cantina.

We then went to a house party ... which for reals never happens in LA. People rent in LA, so house parties are like dolphin humping unicorns ... something that is to be cherished at all costs.

We walked in, and met the host who has SUCH a kickin crib!! ... He goes, what is this on your head?? I need to know what is going on here. I was like OMMGGG we can totes be besties now. You get it!!

Then ... because fun is like herpes ... everyone had to have some ...

@maniacalmorgan's job hunt... the happy ending

A little over a month ago I decided enough was enough. I was working my dead end retail / customer service job and had been for 4 years. I decided it was time to make a drastic change in my life. It was time to find a new job! Now, as of today, I work for SpiritHoods doing Social Media Marketing and PR. How did this come about? Well, let's revisit this last month.

December 14th, Jen and I had the opportunity to go down to Spirithoods' offices in downtown LA. This is where I got my first glimpse of how awesome the company is, and not just the product. We sat down with one of the owners and were able to learn about the company. They are also fans of talknerdytomelover! Go us! They gave us some extra Spirithoods to go out and document life with. I'm sure you guys have seen plenty of posts of all kinds of people in Spirithoods. That is compliments of those amazing folks at the offices.

Through some hard work and a little sweet talking, Jen and I were able to talk them into interviewing me for a position in social media marketing. The first interview went extremely well. I got an inside peek at how creative everyone from Spirithoods is and how amazing of a work environment it is. On Christmas Eve, I took over Spirithoods Twitter. So, if you've @ replied their Twitter account, you were talking to moi! 

January 5th, I sat down with two of the other owners, including the CEO, for my final interview. We touched on a number of ideas and I was able to get a feel about the direction of where they want everything to go. I was already in love with the company and the brand, but that just sealed it.

My life has changed for the better. I am part of an amazing company with an amazing product. My first day is going to be the 31st. I am like a little kid on caffeine and chocolate the night before going to Disneyland. I have no idea how I'm going to sleep before then. I'll figure it out. I am so very fortunate for this opportunity. I wouldn't call it luck. As Jen would say, there is no luck. It's opportunity meets preparation. Through the power of social media, anything is possible!
