<editorsnote>Hi, I'm Jen Friel, and we here at TNTML examine the lives of nerds outside of the basements and into the social media, and dating world. We have over 75 peeps that write about their life in real time. (Real nerds, real time, real deal.) Sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the stories!!</editorsnote>
Super big deal, super awesome .... total dream come true.
From the depths of my everything, thank you all for being a part of this community and allowing this to manifest ... and now, show your butts up and let's DO IT!!
See, she thought it could be cool if we had a few people go up and give a monologue on a funny/ dirty/ insert other amusing adjectives in the keyword of nerd.
I'm dead set on doing this, as I think it could be hilarious and done really well.
If anyone in the community lives in LA (or can be in LA this Friday) and wants to perform a monologue totes email me: JenFriel at TalkNerdyToMeLover D C.
I want to hear from you!!!
Oh, and here's a puppy and baby shooting lasers ...
Dudes, I'm so excited for this show ... my parental units are even flying out for it. So, you KNOW this one is going to be good. WHOOP WHOOP!!
The show is socially integrated as well, so even if you can't be there in the flesh - feel free to tweet at 9:30pm PST on the 24th with the hashtag #nerdsunite to have your tweet appear on our screen ...
Very humbled and very honored to get to share such a passion with you guys. Hope to see you all there!!!
OH! And the after party will be at Barneys Beanery in West Hollywood.
(ps. We filmed the first stage show, so no worries - we're going to figure out how we are going to release it. Sit tight if you're not in the area, we haven't forgotten about ya!!)
See, Dominic is moving his show to a new theater on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood, and the theater owner just happened there in person for that interview, saw who I was, checked out the site, dug what we were about - and then contacted me on Facebook.
I was all ... wow, I never even THOUGHT about turning this into a stage show, but it's totally doable!!!
I then gathered the troops, realized that everything TOTALLY made sense and would be an AH-MAZING opportunity, and here we are today.
The show will consist of the following ...
1. Opening remarks/ updates on whatever adventures in lifecasting have transpired.
2. Dramatic interpretation of OkCupid emails.
3. Storytelling.
4. Panel Discussion.
I can't go into too much more detail without giving away the fun - but it's going to be more awesomeness and fun that is the heart of TNTML and you guys will be able to see it live, and even have a chance to interact with some of your favorite nerds and ask stuff that maybe we were still too afraid to print!!!! (There will also be some rad social media integration - so that I am REALLLYYYY stoked about!!)
It is my goal for 2012 to get as MUUCCHHHHH of this community interacting IRL as much as we all do online, and this is a VERY big first step.
On a more personal note, I cannot begin to tell you how much of this is a dream come true for me. I've been writing and producing little skits since I could hold a pencil, and this is very literally the coolest thing to ever happen to me. To even have this opportunity - wow. Huge.
More details to come over the next few weeks, but LA area nerds, keep the night of January 27th open!!! We'd be HONORED to have you!!!
From the depths of my everything, thank you all so so so much for this opportunity. Superly duperly huge - and for the next 3 weeks, up until we go live, we'll be giving you guys all backstage access to all the fun - so stay tuned!
SO MUCH FREAKING LOVE TNTML!!! Thank you thank you thank you for being in my life!!
