Hi, my name is @SaintPepsi ... and I am a #Christian

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @SaintPepsi

I was born and raised a Christian.  I've believed in God all my life.  I still do.  I know... I know I'm not enlightened or whatever.  Christianity is what I believe in and I know why I believe in it, which is more than I can say for most of the faithless flock that are guilt ridden with issues that have been misinterpreted by trusted leaders. In this current political climate, however, I have never been so ashamed of the word Christian. I know many Christians who are good people and don't swing out into the crazy zone. However, it seems like the people with the microphones, the people who are spear heading the agenda of God (seeing as they love the word agenda so much), are the individuals who have turned the religion I once gained peace from into one of the greatest war engines for hate I have ever seen.  I realize that the major factions of God fearing individuals:  Christians, Muslims, Jews, all have blood on their hands for mass amounts of wars in the past.  Don't jump down my throat on this one, its history. Hell, it's now!  I studied this, I went to college to come be a minister (totally serious on that one) for a religion that seeks to spread the love of God.  All I hear now is hate, hate, and more hate.  Hate is passed off as loving the sinner, but not the sin.  This is bullshit!  I can smell it as soon as their mouth opens.  These people actually rationalize hatred with the assumed judgment of God, a being they so easily speak for yet always seem to misquote.  These miscreants steal single lines from entire books and use them as ammunition against anything they believe is against God. Bearing the cross as if they, themselves, bore the weight of the world’s sins, a weight worth 30 silver coins.

Homosexuality?  Well, of course that's bad.  People shouldn’t love each other! That kind of love involves “dirty” sex... but, so does heterosexual love.  No way, though!  Gays have an agenda to upend the church and all its teachings.  I have never seen any of my gay friends try to shove their sexuality in anyone’s face.  I have never on any occasion seen a gay person openly face someone and say, "I think you should be gay because it's natural and you won't burn in hell."  Darker still, are the examples of certain “sins” that these advocates for hate are perpetuating.  If all sin is sinful in the eyes of God, why are they always so focused on so-called sexual deviancy?  Violence seems to have become just a way of life and more importantly, violence is an answer to God's intentions.  Its all gotten so backwards it makes me sick to my stomach.  I recently went with some gay friends of mine to a church-sponsored meeting for an amendment that will allow gays to obtain protected status in Kansas, so that homosexuals would have the same privileges as heterosexuals under the same rights as race, gender, and age.  If anything, I could best describe the scenario as watching a KKK meeting where no one cared about wearing their hoods.  It's practical and even morally accepted to hate homosexuality in the church.  Taking the homosexual hatred out of the mix you still have a populous that seems to hang on the words of FOX news  -the only “moral” news organization, the mouth piece for rationalization, the news room that turns hate and fear into money and bares the name of God down like a gavel of power.

Gandhi once said, "I like your Christ, but not your Christians," easily an applicable quote in these times.  This is no longer the mad ranting of the Westboro Baptist Church.  Sadder still, I live 45 minutes away from that damned (no pun intended) place.  I asked a close Christian friend of mine how he feels about the direction the church is going and he said, "It's difficult.  As soon as you say the word Christian people tune you out."  The reality of all this is Christian churches have buried their heads so far into the sand, standing on hate and screaming, "LA, LA, LA!  I can't hear you," that the people in the church whom are caring, trying to do good, and love others, cannot associate with the political brand name of Christ or God.  A brand name used over and over again in politics.  Currently, I think the big three religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, have become so pro-war that none of them will ever come back from it.  Currently, there is no love between the children of Abraham and their future seems bleak.   Why would anyone want their names connected to the mass atrocities perpetuated in the names of these houses under one God. . I'm tired of it all.  From the wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Israel, to the attacks on political figures, the beating of homosexuals, and the bombings on abortion clinics, all acts are rationalized by fear and intolerance and much like Anne Rice who found God and discovered that His followers are nuts.

I happen to believe in a god.  I believe that there must be a starting point and that something contributed in putting all that exists together.  Chastise me all you like, but believing in the brand name Christianity, Judaism, or Islam is just something I fear I cannot do anymore.  It's true, I think that if Jesus comes back today and sees where his followers have taken his words through incorrect interpretation, he'd turn around and go home knowing no one had really listened to him, but instead just used his teachings as a means to an end.  What was the greatest commandment again? Oh right!  Love your neighbor as you would love yourself.  Well, people, start loving and stop hating and maybe there will be something to salvage when the end of it all comes. Whenever that happens.

A very clever atheist and wonderfully clear commentator on things, based on his ability to say what he thinks without caring about the political correctness, posted this video.  If you really want to know how the world sees the followers of God who rant and rave and spill hate with every vile word, this man shows it clearly and concisely:

Follow him @patcondell

If you like, call me a bad Christian, call me a faithless, blasphemer that will go to hell.  I'll tell you this much, in a world that believes that silence equals acceptance. That judges others based on their sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, and gender, and deems only a selection of people worthy to judge others, as if God, himself, is speaking through them... well is that a brand of religion you would wear with pride?

Love this. Very nicely done, man. I agree 100% - it's not the belief, it's the religion. You don't need religion to tell you to be a good person and do the right thing....but if you don't want to be a good person and do the right thing, religion is a great thing to hide behind.

fantastic stuff, mate.

I'd define myself as an agnostic, as I think Atheists fall into the category you place institutionalized religion into as well. An almost 'aggressive secularism'.

It's not religion that I take issue with - much like yourself - it's the systematic misinterpretation of it in order to justify cruel ends. That sort of elevated hypocrisy that drives me up the wall, but atheists are guilty of it too.

The problems we're seeing in politics at the moment are centered around multiculturalism. If governments actively work to preserve cultures within a society - be they a religious affiliation or an alien tradition - then how does that affect the legal framework? Should there be one law for all? Is 'multiculturalism' per se a bad thing, therefore? Or is it illiberal to prevent someone from being who they want to be? All interesting questions, but good work..

thank you both, I have in the best of my abilities never judged people based on what they believe. Where you get your hope is yours and yours alone. How you act though gains my criticism. Show who you are through those actions and what every you say will be lent credence.

I am a Christian and I agree with your blog post. Just as there are Islamic extremists there are what I call Christian extremists. Who wield signs on city streets and yell to the passers by that they are going to hell. Who treat gays, lesbians and transgenders like a pile of dirt and loathe the air they breathe. I have no tolerance for these kinds of self called proclaimers of the truth who scream hate instead of spreading the love of God to others. They push people away instead of building relationships and friendships. The hate towards the gays is uncalled for. I love all of my friends regardless of orientation. We all have the choice to live our lives the way we want to, God gave us that choice. But instead of some Christians taking the wrong route, give people the choice to join Christianity, not try to shove it down their throats.

I’m sure you will remove my post as soon as you read this but I have to state what I believe is right since you have taken it upon yourself to influence others. My hope is to get you and others to take a look at yourself, read and learn more of the Bible and become TRULY convicted. I will say up front, I am a sinner, I do wrong daily and I am not anyone’s judge jury or executioner, but I have vowed to meet evil at its door step and I will not ever become “Politically correct”, that’s why we are in the mess we are in today in this country. Christians have been too quiet for too long. God is to be feared.

So you say you’re a Christian, you believe in God and studied to be a Minister. So Brother, what happened to you? I truly accepted Him as my Lord and Savior and repented of my sins, begged for His grace and Mercy and He has showed me the way and I am forever changed and I didn’t have to study or take a college course and listen to some Atheist college professor’s view of Christianity and the Bible. I crave more and more and cannot get enough of his Love, Grace Mercy and scripture. And yes I know what you said above “These miscreants steal single lines from entire books and use them as ammunition against anything they believe is against God.” But yet you quotes scripture yourself, and incorrectly I might add, and you accuse others of being “Christians that swing out into the crazy zone “ and “use them as ammunition”.

You said “What was the greatest commandment again? Oh right! Love your neighbor as you would love yourself.” Brother that is the second greatest commandment according to the Bible I read from, not the first according to you. Matthew 37-39; “ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

Here is more of God’s word that others need to know regardless of what you accuse me of.
“I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. “Romans 16:17-18
You say you believe in God, and I assume you believe in judgment, so when you stand to be judged by Him, how will you reply when asked; How many souls did you send to me? How many souls did you turn from me? How will you answer? We will all answer to Him in the end, including me.
And in reference to Homosexuality, and if you don’t believe Sodom and Gomorra really happen along with others in the Bible you may want to do some research, it is real history and God's laws are very clear.
They don't say:
1. If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable except during this century. Leviticus 20:13
2. Thou shall not commit adultery except during this century. Exodus 10:14
3. Thou shall not commit murder except during this century, Exodus 20:13 I’m referring directly to abortion, over 55 million babies murdered just since 1973 Roby Vs Wade. And we thought Hitler was bad.

We seem to make up our own rules as we go along to support what we want, not what God wants. Where do our “New” laws stop, where are the boundaries, where will be in 10 years! All I hear these days from the “New Generation X”; “You can’t tell me what to do” “It’s my right “, I’m entitled” etc. We CANNOT create our own rules as we go along or just pick out the ones we like in the Bible and disregard the rest. We can’t just create our own ideas what will happen when we die. We have a “Do thou Own will” attitude which is the Devils desire for us to have. God’s rules apply today to all of us just as they did to the Israelites. You either believe in His laws and the Bible cover to cover or put the Bible down and admit you don't believe in God or the Bible and it’s all a lie. He doesn’t want us lukewarm brother. “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! Revelation 3:16”

And as for the Hate you say us Christians have, sounds like there's quite a lot of hate in you for Christians. Your quote “Violence seems to have become just a way of life and more importantly, violence is an answer to God's intentions.” Please read and learn the Old Testament and you will see why there is Violence! This is a battle between good and evil and always has been.

I do agree with you on “The big three religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam” and people are unaware of what’s coming…..no, what’s already here in America with Islam. War with Islam will come. Things haven’t changed over the centuries in reference to war and will not according to Bible Prophecy. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Matthew 24:6

For those people who openly admit they don't believe in God, Atheist or claim to be agnostic etc. I will say this from a good friend, soldier and medic that has served in war “I have never seen an Atheist in a foxhole, when the bullets start flying, and the bombs start going off they ALL cry out to God to save them.” They know there is a Creator they just want to do as they wish and don't want any rules from anyone, that is our society today. No God, No rules. The theory of Evolution gave us this thinking, which is unproven and takes much more faith to believe in than Creation.

You my friend, at this point in your walk, are a false Prophet needing to be exposed and stop leading others to the Devil. You are one of the false prophets that Jesus warned us about!

Why do you think Jesus turned over the tables and flipped out on the people in the temple? It wasn't because they were following the laws set up by themselves. Laws that were so ridiculous that in some way you would screw up no matter what you did. We have done the same thing all over again. Through fear and hate we keep people coming back to a church that hates them. The Christians are no more interested in saving people in this country as they are in creating a eugenic society of like minded fools. Do you now question the absolute truth you yell from your podium. You have to. If you never question anything you can never learn. if you never make mistakes you will never learn. I know Misti. She has a great deal of love in her heart. She is kind and caring. I have seen this in her. I have not seen this in you. I don't know you and you have proven through your antagonistic comments you aren't helpful in leading people to god. It is not his love you show. It is your assumption of his judgement. Sure we could live life in a hole fearing a judgmental god. I don't want to live a life in fear. A life fearing terrorism, politicians, governments, people, and societies that challenge what I believe. I will just live and by the grace of god go I. I suppose I will be judged some day but in my life I love those i meet, I give to them the love god gave to me. I show them through kindness and caring a peaceful and way to live. We may never in this life know who holds the right path to the after life. It's something we can only know after we die. Maybe there isn't anything after, maybe it all starts over. All i know is I will love my god, and love others. Apart from that Jesus came to end the crazy old testament laws that are so often quoted. So knock that off that is if you believe in the bible as a whole book and not separate books. I don't like Paul at all I think he is filled with hate and even after he was saved I still saw him doing exactly what the old testament law makers did and returning the laws of old that were fixed by Jesus. Still, I will follow in the footsteps of Jesus and love those that society has cast aside because that's what he called us to do not judge them. It will never be out place to judge them. That is god's alone and to that regard I'll let him.

Jeremy, I reviewed all the comments on this posting and the common thing I see and I hear from all you and the non believers daily is calling us haters and hypocrites. Hate is listed 17 times on this page. Just keep believing that lie. That's what the Devil wants. His big lie is what most of you now embrace and believe. I am not judging, I do know what is right and what is wrong just as you do. You and others seem to believe you can do whatever you want and are exempt from God's laws, wrath and the Bible.

You cannot hear nor see at this time in your life.

The most powerful thing I can do is to continue to pray for you and Misti and I will.
