#NerdsUnite: DUDES!! I got to kick it on set of The Big Bang Theory!

Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg ommmmffffgggg - nerderinos, I had the most AH-MAZING time at the Big Bang Theory taping the other night!!

Bahhh!! Ahhh!! and YAHH!!! EPIC!

First off, I am getting a little ahead of myself. Lemme break it all down for you how this experience went down, and what it meant to me.

When I started this site on November 3, 2009 - I immediately wanted to be aligned with The Big Bang Theory. Nerdy show, meets nerdy blog. They tape in LA, I live in LA. Get it? We didn't quite have a voice yet, nor were we at the time anything to write home about - but because of the name alone and where my gut told me to take the branding ... this just needed to happen.

I didn't focus on the how, I just focused my energy on setting up our search engine optimization for the online reputation manager at CBS to find us. I was DETERMINED. DE-TER-M-INED to have some sort of connection to the show.

I didn't have any connections, or any bit of anything really - but I knew tech, and I knew if CBS were to hire me to handle the ORM (online reputation management) for the show these would be the kind of blogs, etc I would search for.

I then set up our SEO based on those keywords.

From thhhheeerrrreeee, I wound up crashing the grammys, and doing other shiznat - but the day ... and I mean the DAYYYYY I was moving out of my apartment to live inside the Ford Fiesta, I got a call from a friend of mine who told me he had just spoken to Kaley Cuoco about the site (totally organically too, I didn't ask him to say anything. No one really knew that I wanted a connection to the show - I was just hell bent on doing that through SEO, and SEO only), and when he mentioned the name to her she had not only heard of it, but checked us out.

I FRRRREEEAAAAKKKKKEEEEDDDD out!! Like literally. I remember placing the little leopard bin on the ground and sobbing hysterically.

Like HYSTERICALLY.

So much so, my friend who is this like NY tattooed mofo begged me to stop because he was going to start to cry.

I explained to him that I knew what I was doing was the right thing (moving into the car), but my logical noggin wouldn't stop telling me I was crazy - and my family wasn't exactly thrilled with it either.

I remember just SCREAMING on the phone. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I got to their ORM!! YES!!! I got to their ORM!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't give a flying fuck about wanting/ getting/ having anything from them - I just wanted to know I could do it. In that VERY moment, I knew my skills in tech could support me through anything. That confidence was just what I needed in that VERY moment. If I couldn't afford to put food on the table, (haha wait a minute) if I couldn't afford to even HAVE a table anymore - I knew I could at least post on it, and let the universe work it's magic. In that moment I learned that I had a voice, and people could hear me. Through SEO and SEO alone, I got to their ORM.

FUCK.

YES.

I am literally tearing up now writing this.

I don't have a lot of anything in life right now, nerds. I eat. sleep. and breathe. this site and this brand. To launch it I have slept in airports, chairs, couches, traveled all over the country (sometimes accidentally), almost been arrested ... twice. I won't stop because I physically cannot stop. I feel in my SOUL that this is something special, and I won't stop until people take notice.

This was the first moment I KNEW people were taking notice.

Big moment for me.

Big. Big. Big. HUGE!

So ... that happened.

Then of course, Kaley graciously gave us the exclusive epic livestream while she was recording her single benefiting the humane society. Special thanks again to Noa for that one!

Flash forward a year, and @megcorbs starts helping out on the site, and writing for us. Low and behold her boyfriend works in post production on the show and offered us VIP tickets to the taping.

Dudes, they even put our names on the seats. LOOK!

And then after the taping we got these fancy schmancy pants bracelets and got to grab beers, kick it with the cast, and hang out on set.

No ... like seriously ...

Funny story. Kunal goes - oh I've seen one of these things before. Someone was wearing one at The Rescues show at Hotel Cafe. I was like ummmmm ... that was me. @maniacalmorgan and I were wearing ours in the crowd and the lead duderino stopped the show to comment on the animals in the audience. (I even posted about this!!!) We were then pulled up on stage and I explained this is a spirithood, and my name is @JenFriel and you can find out more about this adventure on TalkNerdyToMeLover.com

Totally worked.

I can't believe it.

Fucking EPIC!

From the depths of my soul. Thank you all so so so so SO much for this moment. It was so rad getting to check out the show, but having that confirmation that I was doing something special was just the most incredible feeling in the world. I'm living life on peanut butter and prayers, and to finally have one answered was amazing. Sincerely ... thank. you.

Remember nerds, I just started out one person with an idea. ANNNYYONNNNEEEE can do this. I'm not special, just awesome - and I own my fucking shit!!!!!!

Just do it.

Just do it.

Just do it.

#thatisall

Special thanks to Meg, Charlie, Noa, Kaley, Kunal, and the folks at Spirithoods. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This really meant the world to me.

#TrueStory: 14 million viewers on Thursday, on #TNTML on Friday

Alrite, so Kaley Cuoco just appeared in a TNTML exclusive livestream today. Um yeah ... fucking epic. Here's the story on how it all went down.

I was at Disneyland today for @maniacalmorgan's bday ... and around 2:45ish I got a call from a friend of mine saying that Kaley had been singing in the hospital to help alleviate her pain. See, Kaley is dating a super stud by the name of Chris French (totally check out his band here, they're effin rad), and music has been her form of therapy since her horseback riding accident. Yeah, horseback riding accidents suck more dick than a 15 year old with daddy issues.

She and Chris got on UStream today, and totally let us tune in! It was super rad - but I only had a few minutes to make this happen. I was literally in the middle of Disneyland, by the Pirates of the Caribbean ride when I got the call. Fortunately, I was working on a project in the car on the way down, so I had my macbook pro chillin in the trunk. I literally HAULED ASS back on the tram, ran through the parking garage, grabbed the computer, ran BACK on the tram, found the ESPN zone that I jacked wifi from a few months back, and sat in the lobby and logged in. What was funny, is this woman who came up to me and asked me where I got my minnie ears from (as I do not go to disney without wearing the epic pieces of awesomeness). Dude, it was STRAIGHT from a movie. I was like uh, uh, uh, lady I'm under deadline. See, they were going to go live ANNYYYY MINUTE!!! And I told him since he didn't have an audience on his ustream channel, we had to embed the feed somewhere WITH traffic to actually have them gain traction and have viewers. Needless to say, it got done ... but holy shit, I don't even know how. That was straight up adrenaline. The ONNNEEEEEEEEE day I am away from my computer, this happens. Lesson learned however.

Either way, totally check out Annie Automatic, they're superly duperly rad ... and tune in Thursdays at 8pm on CBS to The Big Bang Theory. You can also Like it on Facebook here.

Here's the archived feed from Ustream, and I'll let you all know when you can buy the single on iTunes as well, a portion of the proceeds will be going to the Humane Society. SO BITCHIN!!!!

#RockOn

... and PS. this was all recorded on an iPhone. Download Ustream!!! Lifecasting is the future, yo!
