<editorsnote>Hi, I'm Jen Friel, and we here at TNTML examine the lives of nerds outside of the basements and into the social media, and dating world. We have over 75 peeps that write about their life in real time. (Real nerds, real time, real deal.) Sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the stories!!</editorsnote>
Ok, so I might be a few days late, but I've just had so much other stuff going on! Beer pong last night with @Coordin8dDrunk and @JenFriel would be one of the many things done. I know, so important, but anyway. Yes! So, the other day I went on a short preliminary date with this totally awesome girl. We met for 45 min, had some extremely deep and intellectual conversation, and decided that we wanted to see each other again later that night.
So, we meet at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Westwood and Ohio, (no Foursquare checking. I know, for shame. I was too nervous :x) sat down with some coffee, and continued our conversations. We met at 9:45PM with me fully aware that I had to be at work at 7:00AM the following morning. Now, I am such a baby when it comes to my sleep. I love love love to sleep and almost always try to get my full 8 hours. So, I was already giving up my sleep just meeting her again, but worth it!
So, we walked for a solid couple of miles before we found a place to sit, talking the whole while. It's been so long since I felt such a real connection. I totally feel like a 16 year old, sitting by my phone waiting to hear from her. I have the butterflies and everything. I do believe the plan is to get together again on Tuesday and truthfully the time really can't come any faster. Crazy shit. I will be sure to keep all your nerdy folks updated!
Are you a fanofKungfumovies? I gottasayI'm not. AtleastI'm not crazyaboutthem. But I decided to watchReignofAssassinsyesterdayanyway. And I gottasay I reallyliked it.
"Set in ancient China, Zeng Jing is a skilled assassin who finds herself in possession of a mystical Buddhist monk's remains. She begins a quest to return the remains to its rightful resting place, and thus places herself in mortal danger because a team of assassins is in a deadly pursuit to possess the remains which holds an ancient power-wielding secret." -IMDb
Atfirst I thoughtthemoviewasreallyweird - thestoryhad no beginning, no end, everythingwasmixedtogetherand so manynames were dropped in firstfewminutes I didn'trememberanyofthem. On top of it alltheyspokeJapanese - which I likedbecauseKungfumovies in Englishlosetheirorienttouch a bit - but it wasjust a littleconfusingfor me to readthesubtitlesandfollowthestorythatwas a bit unclear.
The main character is Zeng Jing (Michelle Yeoh) aka Drizzle, a member of Dark Stone assassins guild that seeks the remains of the monk. Drizzle is the one that finds half of the remains and that's when she disappears without a trace. From that point on a wild chase after Drizzle is ordered by the leader of the guild, who is determined to obtain both halves of the remains to regain youth and posses ultimate Kung fu skills.
Fighting scenes in the movie were absolutely awesome and that is also the part I liked the most. Kick-ass moves and a few awesome effects made me squint and gasp as I watched Drizzle getting attacked from every direction.
I don't wanna reveal too much for those who have not seen it yet so I'll just say this: the movie is full of surprises and twists, we get to see a crazy horny chick, some noodle porn (you'll know it when you see it) and luckily, at the end of the movie suddenly you understand everything that happened in first hour and a half.
Alrite, alrite - after Tucker's epic postage earlier I'd totally be lying if I said that I haven't been spending the last hour looking up zit popping vids. Yep, it's saturday night, and I'm on YouTube looking at flying puss. The true end of an excellent evening of Rock Band, Catan, DDR, and air hockey. Uh hhuuuhhhhh!!! Either way, this zit was named Herman. That just cracked me up. I wish Herman had a Facebook like page. OOOHHH here's to wishful thinking ...
I don't know why I find this so oddly fascinating. It's like where do these blobs come from, and why, what makes the puss fly out so quickly, what is the little liquid thingie that comes up after ...
Zits are what happen when the oil glands in your skin get clogged and pus is what comes out when you pop them.
But don't pop them! It only spreads infection and can make your embarrassing zits even worse!
Zits do not care about color, sex, or age, everyone from teenagers to grannies get zits. In fact, zits can be found on the faces and bodies of over 70 million people!
A lot of things can cause zits. Including stress, and a build-up of toxins including infection. Stress is not just a mental state of being, it can also affect your physical wellness. If you have an infection, it will find an outlet through pimples.
During your teen years your body starts to do some funky things while it grows up, including producing more testosterone (a male hormone found in females as well as males, but in varying amounts), which tells your body to start producing more oil. As a result, the dead skin cells mix with the oil and clog your pores, causing zits.
There are a few kinds of zits, all undesirable, but some more than others. When your skin is clogged up with enough skin cells and oil, you get whiteheads; a small white bump under the surface of the skin. When it reaches the surface, it appears black and a blackhead develops. It isn't a dark color because of dirt, but rather from melanin pigments (the stuff that gives color to your skin and hair).
If the wall of the pore breaks, it can become inflamed and red. If it breaks further below the skin's surface acne nodules or cysts can form. It is important to get these treated, unless of course you want permanent scars.
Did you know?
Chocolate doesn't cause acne. Experiments conducted at the University of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Naval Academy found that consumption of chocolate - even frequent daily dietary intake - had no effect on the incidence of acne. Professional dermatologists no longer link acne with diet.
Think that only dirty people get zits? Nope. Clean people get zits too. Bacteria (the good and bad kinds) lurk in everyone's skin.
Will scrubbing my face a lot get rid of my zits? Sorry Snoopy, although washing your face is necessary, stripping your face of the natural oils cause your glands to go into hyper-drive to make up for it, which will lead to even more breakouts! You should only wash your face gently with a mild cleanser no more than twice a day.
