<editorsnote> Hi, I'm Jen Friel, and we here at TNTML examine the lives of nerds outside of the basements and into the social media, and dating world.  We have over 75 peeps that write about their life in real time. (Real nerds, real time, real deal.) Sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the stories!! </editorsnote>

Fun with #OkCupid: It's lifecasting, not journalism

How does lifecasting work with my friends? Well first off, I never name names. I just describe my experiences. Lifecasting is very very very very VERY different than journalism. Lifecasters are more interested in conveying a feeling or emotion for the purpose of sharing, where journalists are a horse of a different color with this hunger for news, knowledge, and being the first. I say that of course in the most loving way possible - but lifecasters are INCREDIBLY different. I have never, and could never exploit or do any sort of "tell alls" on my friends. Just not my thing. I give nicknames if there is a whole story line attached, or for the most part just say "my friend the ..."

Yeah, guys have definitely been offended by things I have written - but I can't help that part. If you're in my life, chances are really good you're going to be part of a post. This is my life through my eyes, through my frame of mind. That's all. It provides freedom for me being able to post so many weird and random thoughts that pop in my head - and for the readers, it can help them to not feel alone. There is no such thing as an isolated thought, we are all one and all constantly working in unison whether we are conscious of that fact or not.
