I'm going to introduce you to one of my favorite Los Angeles bands, Ballerina Black, but before I do that, I want you bask in the glow of Tony's Pizza. If you're in LA, you're probably finally seeing rainbows and craving pizza after all the rain we've endured to begin with. I am going to make it worse. Much worse.

Well, I wrapped up all the administrative crap that went along with my stint in jail! That's right, my beloved nerds, I had to keep a secret from you for a little while. It hurt something awful, but now that my name no longer appears at the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Inmate Locator, my name can once again appear here! I wouldn't have it any other way! See, I really, really, really pissed off a cop, and giving him more material to work with just wasn't such a good idea. I can talk about being a miscreant openly again! Joy!
Since the Honorable (and awesome) Judge Marsha Revel (aka Lindsay Lohan's fingernail 'Fuck U' judge) threw out my case in less than 60 seconds, I've been hard at work with some great people in the music industry, because you know I've got to turn it up to 11. I just returned from a trip to Big Bear with one of my favorite bands, Ballerina Black, and tomorrow I get to return to court for jury duty. Completely unrelated, but I'll bring back a fascinating story or three. I have also had the distinct pleasure of rocking out with rock & roll royalty, Kerry Brown. He works with killer bands and runs a record label with some guy called Billy Corgan.
Since being arrested is something of a rite of passage in my line of work, I figured I'd share my experience with all of you here at TNTML. No, I haven't abandoned you! I missed all of you dearly, and we've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm ready! Are you ready, baby?

It's official: @JenFriel (aka #HotLips/That Nerdy Girl) and I love ourselves some Anberlin! Especially acoustic, intimate Anberlin. Oh, baby.
Our friends at Ultimate Ears let us amble up to the Logitech Loft at Watermarke Tower in Downtown Los Angeles last night for 5 Anberlin tracks; they ran the gamut from "Impossible", the song that's pumping in your radios courtesy of folks like my boy Kade at 98.7FM, to older tracks, like "Paperthin Hymn". We're going to get down and dirty with Anberlin's latest album, "Dark Is The Way, Light Is The Place" for all you #nerds, and we've got some copies of the album to give away!
We even have some Ultimate Ears 100 headphones up for grabs!
Thanks to everyone who made last night possible, especially Anberlin for being an accessible, awesome group of guys. I hope their tour kicks ass. Did you know that they do a mighty fine cover of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths? To tide you over for the rest of our Anberlin Extravaganza, I leave you with a cover of Danzig's "Mother" from last night. Sorry the lighting wasn't terrific, it was all about taking it down a few notches last night and chilling, which meant bright lights weren't part of the equation! It still sounds killer. Yeah, son, I shot this!

I live in West Hollywood, California. It's densely populated, and almost everybody has at least one pet. In my building, however, pets are not allowed. As I live across the street from a dog park, I've decided to work around this unfortunate circumstance by taking all 13 glorious inches of my remote controlled drone dalek to the local dog park, where I will film his people and pet interactions. His name is Sextoy and he's very friendly. You might know what a dalek is from the glorious BBC institution "Doctor Who!"
Think of this as me giving my #WestHollywood nerds advance warning. My dalek is friendly and he wants to play with your dog! He is a bit mouthy, and even though he's going to threaten to exterminate your animal, don't worry about it, Sextoy doesn't even fire blanks. He does perform on command. If you see Sextoy around, pat him on the head! Just don't touch his eye-stalk, it'll make him aggressive. I will be filming Sextoy's follies and posting them here. This is gonna be sooooo much fun.
