"Like" pages get an upgrade ...

AWESOME timing! I was literally just finishing reading the article on Mashable explaining about the page upgrade, RIGHT as the TNTML page prompted me for an upgrade. Ohhh life, you're fab!

It was funny, when it first happened in December, I happened to be sitting on Facebook (duh)- and was fortunate enough to watch the accidental launch happen. Thank you screenshots!

Either way, I was really curious to see the effect the new layout was going to have on FBML (facebook mark up language), basically all the pretty stuff that people add in to their pages.

For our page, I created mock Facebook profile accounts with all the reviews people had given us in the early days. HEHEEHEHE I set it to 1969 .. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHE!!

It's still there, they just moved the navigation over to the left. It looks a little less appealing, since at least before you could edit the display tab. I haven't been able to figure out if the change in navigation would also change the setting of the landing page for new users. For example, if you're not a liker of TNTML on Facebook, it automatically directs you to the FBML page instead of the wall ... that's intentional.

I'm super super super stoked to see what people are going to do with the tagged images up top. I feel like that'll be HUGE as far as the general display is concerned, even now potentially more so than any FBML that people have added.

ALSO!!! I got the photo upgrade on Facebook as well this morning. All pictures are done through a shadow box type display:

I liked it at first ... dug the display, WAYYY better than having to wait for it to load on some pics, or have me click an untag, or tag before as clearly not all images are the same size and my fingers move SO fast while navigating through pictures ... that was until I realized I couldn't copy those pictures!!!!!

Facebook put a friggen lock on images now!!!

I know that's for our "safety" and yada yada ... I should be happy, I'm sure it'll impede a few people from making fake accounts - but dude, it is SUCHHHH a pain now having to screen shot pics I steal from Facebook for posts. GRRRRRRRRRR!!! Oh well, give and take ... give and take.

Thanks so so much Marky Mark and your Facebook bunch! I superly duperly appreciate the new page redesign and can't WAIT to see what you have up your disc sleeve next.

ohhh baby I love it when you pout at me like that *drool*

#Facebook Answers Question Regarding Commenting Privacy

Alrite, recently Facebook changed the commenting privacy on your wall from stating that you had merely posted on someone's wall to now, actually displaying the entire comment. Yeah ... sucks ... fortunately, Marky Mark and his Facebook bunch have now provided us with an answer on exactly who can see said comment posting. Take it a wayyyyyyyy Marky Mark!

The only people that can see the story about your comment are those who can see the content you commented on. For example, if you commented on a photo that only you and your friend can see, only you and your friend would be able to see the story on your Wall.

Okayyyyy ... I'm still confused. My profile is completely public. So does that mean that every single person that comments on my wall, will have posted on their wall, the comment since my wall is entirely public? Does that make sense? Cause I'm not gonna lie ... this is making my head hurt. I still think this is kinda douchey, dude - and still plan on deleting all the comments just for shits and giggles. I just don't like it. I'm all for open communication, which is clearly why I like twitter - but this just irks me. I don't know why ... but I'm owning it. BAHH!! Please please please Facebook allow us to set the privacy back to "posted on so and so's wall." Really not liking thisssssss!!!

Nerdy Thoughts on #FacebookEmail

I watched the livestream today of the big Facebook announcement, and typically I won't comment on things until I have actually played with them (as this site is lifecasting, and first hand documenting only) but I gotta say, this sounds pretty awesome.

Before we go any further, read about it here on Mashable, so we're all on the same page.

It's totally cool ... I'll wait for you right here and twiddle my thumbs.

Alrite baller, you back? Let's move on ...

First off, I love how personalized the announcement felt. They started on time, which was incredibly respectful, and furthermore the antidotes were refreshing. A bit out of character for Zuckerberg who is seemingly so private, but an interesting touch nonetheless and certainly no accident.

Zuckerberg recalled going home to his girlfriend's house for Thanksgiving and asking her sister's friends what they were using online ... they of course said Facebook, and then they also noted that email was too slow. They wound up using Facebook as their primarily email source as they didn't have to wait to refresh the page, they were already on it - and the little red indicator just popped up.

That apparently sparked the genius for this project.

I gotta hand it to them, Facebook and their branding is just impeccable. Zuckerberg flat out said, this isn't email. It's a "modern messaging system." He's not trying to come in and claim dominance on Yahoo! or Google - he's smart, he knows that doesn't work. We didn't like it on the playground, and we're certainly not going to like it now. He's just coming in with a better solution, re-branding it, and re-packaging it as an entirely new experience.

Good lord, this man turns me on!!!! SO SMART!!!

All the conversations are threaded, and sorted upon the level of priority given to a specific contact. Pretty much everything google wishes they could have accomplished with priority inbox.

I am curious though to see the translation to mobile devices, which for me, is pretty important since I lead a nomadic lifestyle. I never send Facebook messages from my Droid. I can't!! Touch is HORRIBBLLEEEEEEEE!!! I have to use gmail.

Either way, I'm pretty excited about this project. It'll be unrolled over the next few weeks to months by invite only. So sit tight. I'll let you know when I get one.

@ManiacalMorgan moves in with Coordinated Drunk!!

BWAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!! I am dying.

You guys remember Coordinated Drunk??? Yeah, super cool dude. Well, @maniacalmorgan TNTML's co-editor tweeted the other day that he was looking for a new place, and I guess that Coordinated Drunk got back to him, and said - YOO!!! Brother from another mother, I got a crib with an extra blanket for ya!

... and now they're besties and totally just played Halo and are now going to be living together.

A guy I went out on a date with on OkCupid is now the co-editor's roomate. Yep ... that is some serious social media magic right there ... yep!

Congrats Morgan and Coordinated Drunk! May you both live nerdily ever after!
