#TheRedDressClub: Women Writers Unite

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @JenSquard

I was totally twitter eavesdropping last night.  Several of the women I follow were chatting about writing with the tag #trdc.  I'm a nosey nancy, so I asked what it was all about, and was redirected HERE.

This is The Red Dress Club.  It's an online community of women writers.  They chat about their writing and editing techniques...such a great idea.  I'm not a writer like at all even a little bit, or I would snatch up this little site and keep it in my pocket.  But some of you lovely ladies are, so have at it!

http://thereddressclub.blogspot.com

Here is what I found that I really wanted to share - it is taken from Jenny of The Bloggess:

"I want, just once, to wear a bright red, strapless ball gown with no apologies. I want to be shocking, and vivid and wear a dress as intensely amazing as the person I so want to be. And the more I thought about it the more I realized how often we deny ourselves that red dress and all the other capricious, ridiculous, overindulgent and silly things that we desperately want but never let ourselves have because they are simply “not sensible”. Things like flying lessons, and ballet shoes, and breaking into spontaneous song, and building a train set, and crawling onto the roof just to see the stars better. Things like cartwheels and learning how to box and painting encouraging words on your body to remind yourself that you’re worth it."

Aaaaahmazing, right?  This so much encompasses who I try to be as a person.  Open to life and unafraid of the backlash.  I live my life through my children's eyes, and every day is a major adventure and totally new to them.  I get to rediscover how to discover and be excited and learn and love because they are discovering it for the first time.  And I love it.

Shoot me a tweet and follow my ridiculousness over that way.  @JenSquard

This little lemon baby wouldn't even make a pucker face!  She just sucked on them and chewed them up - not even a shiver.  Funny baby!

My favorite new thing: #Pureology TextureTwist

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @JenSquard

*disclaimer: While this site has corporate sponsorship, I, JenSquard, do not.  At all*

I got a super cute new haircut yesterday, and she showed me this fantastic new product called TextureTwist by Pureology.  It is AWESOME.  I have super fine hair, like crazy crazy fine hair, so body - not so much.  But look at all this hair!

It just put some texture in your hair and holds it in place.  You can style it however you want, and it totally stays, then you can move it around, and it totaly stays there, too.  But it's not greasy or sticky or anything, and doesn't look gross.  Love it.  LOVE love love it.  My mom has super long hair and she uses it in hers, too.  It holds bangs in place, and gives long hair a little bit of roughness, so curls hold better and it looks nice and thick.  It's good stuff, and it is the first product I have ever found that I actually like and will use every day.  Seriously, I usually just spike my hair with water.  Now I feel like a real girl!  Hahaha!

If you need something in your hair that is actually going to work, I recommend this stuff.  Especially if you have fine and stupid hair like mine!

Check them out here.

#nowplaying: DHT - Listen To Your Heart

I have been super MIA lately - and I want to use this platform to apologize to everyone.  It sucks and I'm sorry, but I've just been so effing busy getting ready for this wedding expo.  It's on this coming Sunday, so I will be surfacing and back to reality soon.  I have soooo so much riding on this expo that I haven't been willing to put any effort into anything else.  Well, except the whole being a mom and working from home thing.  That apparently doesn't stop just because I've got some stuff going on.

So yeah, things are going to start looking up.  Last year was such a tough one for us as a family, but it finally seems like we are getting out from under it and getting on the right track.  The hubbard's new job is super awesome and he loves it, so that's really all that matters.  I'm getting more professional and confident in my photography....and oh man oh man, I had someone send me their resume to see if I was interested in hiring them as a second shooter!  What!?  Um, yah, that makes me feel A-Okay.  Because I live in 1950.

Anywhoozle, I'm in the crunch time for the expo, getting my booth built and set up and designed and awesomefied, so I'll rejoin the normal world in a regular capacity soon.  Maybe.
