Surprise, You're Adopted! (part 2)

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan

Just so you know, I hate using the term "foster." My mom and dad are the ones who put their blood, sweat, and tears into raising me. I might not be their biologically, but they are and will forever be my mom and dad.

Oh my goodness. I know there's been a relatively large gap between this post and the last. This last week has been an emotional rollercoaster like you can't believe. Let's just say the root of it lies with a girl. Sounds about right, eh? So, let's get to the story at hand. I'm adopted and this is how I found out.

If you haven't read part one of Suprise, You're Adopted, you can check it out here. So, I got the message in my Myspace inbox with my two closest friends sitting there with me. I finished reading the message and was just in awe. I didn't know what to believe. I still thought it was just some crazie messing with me... but, what if it wasn't? My two friends and I went out for dinner. As soon as we got our table, I went outside to call the number enclosed in the message. *ring ring ring* I can tell you, I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack. I didn't know what to expect. This couldn't be real. She picked up the phone. The second I returned her "hello," she burst into tears. She knew immediately who I was without me even having to say anything. I told her "I'm sorry if I'm skeptical, but I don't know if I believe all of this." She began to tell me what time of day I was born, how much I weighed, she knew I had my appendix taken out when I was 12, and that I recently had laser eye surgery. Holy crap. She told me that my mom had sent her a few letters over the years, filling her in on what had occurred. Holy shit. I ended the phone call, still unsure of what was going on. My head was swimming with all of this. Was it true? What does it mean? I shrugged it off and tried to enjoy the rest of my dinner.

The next day, I had lunch with my uncle. We go out from time to time and already had this planned. We ate, chatted, and had a good time. He's awesome and I love him. He's a total nerd, so we connect :p. Anyway, towards the end of lunch, I told him I needed to ask him a question. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach. Ohmygodohmygod. I almost didn't want to know the answer to the question I was about to ask. "Am I adopted?" Surprised, he just kind of looked at me. "You need to talk to your parents," was his reply. That confirmed it for me. I wasn't angry, sad, or even upset. I can't explain the feelings I was having. At that moment, my life changed. Drastically.

Working the night shift, I left lunch and went straight to work. I kept busy to try and keep my mind off of recent events for the sake of work, but that was nearly impossible. I took a break to call my dad. "Hey dad, I need to ask you a favor." My parents are the early to bed type. They are in bed at the latest by 9PM. This was a Thursday. My mom had a girlfriend weekend planned and was leaving the next day. My mom has always been the super sensitive type. I didn't want to bother her before she went on her much-needed vacation. "Could you wait up for me? I'll be home by 12:30AM. And don't worry, no one is pregnant." I felt a wave of relief wash over his voice as he agreed to stay up and wait for me.

Alright, so this is another breaking point for me. This is going to be a long story. I'll try and give you the next part sooner. Again, there's so much going on in my personal life, it makes it hard. I just haven't had the motivation to write, as this is an emotional story for me. I can only take so much! Anyway, I'll be continuing soon!

May The Force Be With You...

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan

Darth Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.

Luke Skywalker: He told me enough... he told me you killed him.

Darth Vader: No, I am your father.

"Surprise, you're adopted," would have worked better.

#Dexter S05E02 Hello, Bandit

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan

Spoiler alert! I'm going to be talking about Season 5, Episode 2 of Dexter.

Despite the fact that Dexter didn't murder anyone this episode, it was still captivating none-the-less. With all the shit going on in his life and with the kids, it's a surprise he's still standing. Oh em gee.

So, Dexter is finally cleared with the FBI. Truthfully, I was kind of worried about that. I wasn't sure when Rita's murder actually happened and there was that whole block of time where Dexter was murdering Arthur that was unaccounted for. So, that all worked out. The Mitchell family each gave a different description of Kyle Butler, Dexter's persona he derived to get close to Arthur. Low and behold, Quinn is putting the pieces together. This could get messy. Not only are Quinn and Debra having a "thing," but from the looks of it, he's going to start digging up dirt on Dexter. I see him falling in love with Debra and having to chose between bringing Dexter in or being the Deb. We shall see...

So, I totally thought we were going to see Quinn and Debra go at it again. Alas, there was no fornication. However, it was interesting that Debra finally admitted that they had sex. Again, I see this developing into a relationship. You can quote me on that. Dun dun dun.

Now, I feel like we're seeing a very responsible version of Debra. She's no longer playing the victim and is helping her big brother. She's trying her hardest to make sure that everything works out. She has opened up her home and let go of her privacy for the sake of Dexter and the kids. Super nice of her.

LaGuerta and Batista are having some marital issues. She has a savings account with a quarter million dollars in it that Batista happened to find out about. He feels like she is keeping this from him and she feels like she is saving money for the both of them. Due to some miscommunication, Batista feels that she thinks he is irresponsible. Stupid on his part, but what can I say? This ends with Batista and Masuka in a bar getting hammered. Someone lips off about LaGuerta and Batisa turns into the drunk Hulk and beats his ass. I don't blame him truthfully. We'll see what the repercussion are.

Dexter has discovered a new lead to help him return to his old self; Fowler. A seemingly odd fellow, Dexter has to dig deep to see if he fits into Dexter's rules. After nearly getting caught and following Fowler out into the middle of nowhere, Dexter discovers the bodies of Fowler's victims. If there was a question before, it's gone now. This guy is going to die by Dexter's hand. I am giddy with anticipation.

The department also has a new case on their hands. So far, it seems like a murder / suicide, but we should know better. I smell the antagonist for season 5. We'll have to wait and see how this unfolds. Stay tuned next week! Episode 3 on Showtime at 9:00PM PST.

#Videogame #Trailers: #NBA #2K11

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan

Believe it or not, but I'm a sports fan too. I know, who would have thought? Now, as much respect as I have for all sports, basketball is where it's at. I'm a huge Lakers fan and you'll see me writing about games throughout this coming season. Well, 2k sports is releasing NBA 2K11 on the 5th of October and I'm totally excited! Why? Because Michael Jordan is going to be a playable character this year. "Playable character" is an understatement to be honest. Jordan is going to have his own game mode called, "MJ: Creating a Legend" where you will be able to take control of Jordan as a rookie and turn him into the superstar he is known as. Unfortunately, I didn't pick up last year's NBA 2k10, but I am an avid fan of the series. I still play NBA 2k9 all the time. KOBE TO THE RIM! Anyway, here's the trailer and don't forget to pick up your copy on October 5th!
