#WTF: Why you trippin' foo?

This is Butter. He is sitting in the chair across from me, and even he's anxious.AHH!! BAHH!! and YAHHH!! Dudes, I am straight trippin today. First off, I am poop-dee-oop-dee-ooped. I've been super anxious for the last day or so ... the suited big wigs are talking to some equally super suited big wigs about the pilot... and like, if this goes through, a lot of awesomeness will be even awesomer.

It's weird, I'm like clearly crazy stupid, OMMFFGGGGGGGGG proud of this pilot - but at the same time, dude its the web. I can SEE IN REAL TIME (thx squarespace analytics) what they're looking at. Weird when you see such crazy spikes and you know you did nothing special in your SEO or any big social media pushes. HAHA! This is so fucking evil. I'm trying to busy myself, but I think I'm just gonna watch the flat screened thing on the wall that doesn't connect to the internet. I need a break, this has been a VERY INTENSE week. It's all so exciting, but my body is still just partially in shock that a lot of this is happening. You know it's happening ... you hustle the damn thing morning, noon, and night ... and  even when these names come out of peoples mouths it still shocks you.

I have literally been playing this song  over, and over, and over, and over. I can't stop. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. Again, I can't tell you all really anything yet other than just the emotions that I am experiencing. MANNNNNNNNN, this is a trip.

We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not.
We've got each other and that's a lot for love -
We'll give it a shot.

I am literally ... living. on. a. prayer.

oh and speaking of his Bon Joviness, have you guys seen the vid for You wanna make a memory? Dude, the DP was AHHH-MAZING!! Super pretty!

#Randombling: That Nerdy Chick

Randombling: A 5 minute long unedited random stream of consciousness produced by a nerd for nerds.

#nowplaying: Cage the Elephant - Ain't no rest for the wicked

I am SOOOOOOO anxious for tomorrow. I feel like a kid on the night before a big trip to Disney World. We're having a big big big meeting with the Hollywood god, and our director to hash out the pilot script. I've never been more proud of anything in my entire life ... this team that has been assembled absolutely BLOWS MY MIND!!! The work that has gone into this from day one, and the completely organic way this all unfolded is truly something for the books. I am so so so so so FUCKING EXCITED!!! BAHHHHHH!!!

Seeing the name "Jen Friel" in a credit list with all of these people was literally the greatest thing ever. I screamed when I saw this one email that came in today when I was hanging out in the coffee shop. I've been working so much of the hustle in just getting all of this done with the pilot, that it never really occured to me to take any of it in - today it hit me like a ton of bricks. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible.

I'm pretty freaky at being able to get things done. I am SOOOOOOOOOO deep in this space, that all I have to do is think okay, we need this for this so I can Facebook this person, or send a tweet to this person, blah blah blah blah blah. It's amazing the nerdy network we've got round these parts. All people want to do is help, and be a part of the story. Its unbelievably humbling.

Holy shit, I'm creator and executive producer of a pilot based on my life and this website. Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy fucking shit!

I can't stress this enough either that I am so unbelievably honored to work with these people. No joke, and across the entire board. I had told the Hollywood god last year that I wanted to work with him one day - who knew it would come true so soon. HAHAHHAHAHA!! And OMG! Our director in this, he's so nerdy ... its brilliant. Super super super proud of it. Everyone is an expert in their own lil thang and collectively we make the most KICK ASS team on this PLAANNNEETTTTTTT!!! So much talent.

Really excited for where all of this is going. Again, there is going to be a LOT I can't say, but trust that I'll still be writing down what I'm experiencing as we go ... so it'll prolly have to be like some "tell all" thing at a later date; I can't shoot my own self in the foot in regards to this project. So yeah! Yay life!

Get 'er done nerds! Go and get 'er done! Let's build a frenzy.

xoxo #nerdsunite

#TNTML Pilot Update!

BAHHHH!! What a time what a time ... just wanted to let you all know that we're hustling and bustling with the TNTML pilot.

In case you need a recap, in June I had this idea for a web series based on experiments, and life experiences I had over the last year ... contacted this chick about it, she told her roommate (@bryceless) who said this isn't a webseries, this is a movie! He then wrote a treatment, presented it to me, I friggen LOVED it, and away we went into making a major motion picture. Through connections this guy had, we were able to get it infront of the nerdiest of nerdy directors. He loved the idea, we went through 4 drafts of the script, and we got notes from his agent who's basically the IRL Ari Gold. Then we had a bit of a hold up with clearances and usage of technical components that we're going to be integrating in the film ... but after many emails, phone calls, and even the threat of just showing up wherever I had to, we were able to get it done. Then our director's wifey had her show cancelled, so what was being able to be done on spec, had to turn into a payday or we'd lose our director. I then called in a Facebook favor, and emailed a Hollywood god that I had lunch with this year after I screened his movie for TNTML. I asked him to read it, and he was totally game. He loved it, but said parts of it didn't make sense for film, why not turn it into a pilot for TV ... and that is where we are today. Yeah, it's been nuts - but literally every meeting, every email, every ... ANYTHING has been documented. Tells such a GREAT story of how social media has changed so much for someone with an idea.

That being said, @bryceless and I are working hard on packaging this product with the Hollywood god for pilot season. See, in television, they have this time of the year called "pilot season," which occurs in the spring/ summer time, where people can present their ideas to the major networks in the hopes that it will be bought and aired during the fall. It's pretty cool but requires an ENORMOUS amount of work. For reals, you have to write pretty lengthy bios for each character, and flush out the entire first season explaining both the A and B story lines; let alone all the explaining that we have to do for the technical components and marketing opportunities!! It's nuts ... it's totally insane, and I am LOVING every minute of it.

The Hollywood god has some things he's gotz to take care of ... but come the middle of January, we're going to really start packaging everything with a showrunner and all that jazz. I'm pretty stoked! Everything was just the most perfect of perfect timing!

There's definitely going to be a lot that I can't tell you guys, but I will ask for forgiveness over permission ANNYDDAAYYYY!!! So no worries.

It's really interesting too how different a TV script is from a movie. A movie script has all of these complex layers that have to be established in this arc and yada yada ... where a TV script is just all about the characters bumping into each other. Literally, I just about died laughing when the Hollywood god said that to me. It's so crazy stupid simple ... but works.

Either way, we're super super super good at this point. I am SOOO humbled at the team that has been put together, they're all such talented people. Yay for social media making all of this happen!!

All I have to say is that 2011 is going to be hands down the best year ever, and I can't WAIT to share it with you all. Thanks guys so so much for being in my life!! I read every tweet, every email, every everything. It means the world to me, and keeps me going. THANK YOU!! Whoop whoop!!!

#TNTML Pilot Update!

SOOOOOOOO we're moving and groovin with the pilot script. Amazing how much goes into a pilot. For reals, I am learning so much. Like, did you know even for just a pilot, you have to have an outline for an entire first season? Talking about A and B story lines ... where each character is going ... and yada yada. I feel like that should totally make sense in my noggin, but I'm also Buddhist and a very "in the now" type person. Fortunately, I have the most active of active imaginations, @brycless and I work incredibly well together.

Last week we sat around, watched a show or two for inspiration, and basically banged out the entire first season of TNTML. Of course we're not married to it at this point, but at least we have something for when we meet with the Hollywood god again this week. Super chill dude, such a trip to be working with him. Talk about an honor ... and talk about just embracing all of the present moment magic. I didn't expect to host a screening, then get a message from the person who did the movie, have lunch, and then 8 months later have a project for him. So weird ... all about the networking baby! Stay open to all opportunities. Always.

I digress ... we have to put together this whole package to present to the networks before spring. That includes of course all of the marketing opportunities and super nerdy stuff on my end. That might sound like a long time, but it's totally not. We really don't have a lot of time at all. Springtime in LA translates to being as early as February. Given though, this is like having Steve Jobs around helping you with your little computer company ... I know the Hollywood god definitely has our back, but it doesn't mean we don't put in our end of the bargain, and all of our end of the work. I didn't come this far, have all of these things happen, and literally every.single.day. put my life on the line for something if I didn't know it could work.

Super cool, super stoked ... and yeah! I'm excited. We're going to be meeting up with him this week, and he's going to give us the first round of notes on our second draft of the script. The first draft was sent to this el nerderino who is a big big BIIGGGGG TV writer. Like for reals, big shows ... stuff you know ... he and @brycless are brothers from another mother, so you know how it goes. He gave us a lot of invaluable information on timing, and jokes ... etc. So fascinating. This process is sooooooo fascinating. Everytime I see a new show come out on TV, even sucky ones, I will release a small tear, and take my right hand and place it on my heart while mouthing "I feel you brother ..." Wowzzaahhss!

Such an exciting time though! I keep having to remind myself this is happening ... wow. just wow.

#TNTML Movie Update: Final Draft Time!!

So, if you're new *waves* welcome ... hi, I'm Jen. Hollyhood totally took an idea that I had for a webseries, and are turning it into a major motion picture. SUH-WEET!!!!!

DUDDESSSS!!! Omg, first off .... what a week this has been. Tomorrow, @bryceless and I are sitting down with the uber nerdy director to go through the script line by line and get it ready to be presented next week. Yeah, big shit. Again, I'm not really scared - just incredibly anxious. We're talking about life changing things here, nerds. Personally and professionally there is no going back ... and I'm kinda kosher for passover with that. I've been waiting for this for a very long time ... I just had to learn how to step up to my OWN plate. So rad ... so, so, radddd!!! So yeahhhhh!!! I'll definitely let you know how it goes tomorrow, but we are moving at LIGGHTT speed on this!!! In normal Hollywoodland for us to get to this point with everything would have taken months. Thankfully the technological component of it is really kicking people in the butt - which is bitchin.

Stay tuned nerds ... good stuff is a' comin'!!!
