#Flashback: December of 2007

OOOHHHHMYYYYYYGOOOOODDDDDD!!!

Looky looky what was tweeted to me earlier today ...

IT'S MY OLD LIVEVIDEO PACK!!!

@ejeremy was literally one of the dudes that changed my life. He hired me back in the day, to work for Brad Greenspan (one of the founders of Myspace), as a personality on his new site LiveVideo. My handle was PhotoJeNic, a nickname that my friend Vega gave me. Yeah, 2007 man, we were lifecasting. Waaayyyyyy ahead of the curve. I literally remember conversations with Jeremy joking about being able to one day do this on our phones, and yada yada.

Dude, epic - this is making my LIFE!

I used to walk around Los Angeles with this thing strapped to my back, and even velcroed to the visor of my beetle. It's a netbook, a USB based web cam, and it ran off of a sprint air card. I never ever ever ever ever showed anyone what the pack actually looked like, because I didn't want to admit that I was in fact a plant on the site. I so so so so so sooooo genuinely enjoyed what I was doing that I thought if people thought I got paid, it would cheapen my experience. I kid you not, working for LiveVideo changed everything for me. I "got" things so much faster being there, and watching people talk about social media before there was even a title for it. Nuts! Insane! and AHMAZING!!

So so so so so thankful for my experience at LiveVideo, because it was those skills that taught me what to do, and what not to do when it came to launching a site.

HAHA oh good lord, my intro video makes me cringe. I love it, totally takes me back - but good lord. I could never go through the archives ... too much, haha! Too much!

THANK YOU SO MUCH JEREMY!!! TOTALLY MADE MY DAY!! xoxox

Don't buy Verizon #iPhone??

Hmmmmm looky looky the article I just came across on Gizmodo. Gotta admit, they do make some very valid points. READ!

The day that Verizon gets the iPhone will be remembered as glorious by everybody who's dropped 12 calls in a row, been taunted by meaningless signal bars and just plain had a miserable AT&T experience. But they shouldn't buy one.

Let's keep in mind what Apple—or rather, Verizon—is announcing, precisely. A new carrier for the iPhone 4. That's it. Not a new product. That's why Apple is ceding the stage to Verizon. If it was a truly new product, Apple would do all the talking.

Apple will announce a new iPhone in June, as they have every year since 2008. It'll go on sale later that month, or in early July, as it has every year. That's six months from now. And it'll be better than the iPhone 4 in some tangible way. Maybe not on the order of the leap from the 3GS to the iPhone 4, but it'll have something new to offer. And everybody will want it, because that's how things seem to work with Apple: There's just enough new to make whatever Apple product you've currently got in your hand feel deficient in some way.

But the people who just bought on an iPhone 4 with Verizon will be locked into new 2-year contracts. Their new phones, though maybe better at holding calls better than their AT&T counterparts, will still be old news just a few months after birth. And what if the iPhone does the same thing to Verizon it did to AT&T? Let everybody else be an early adopter.

It's possible that Verizon will come up with some crazy deal to make its warmed-over iPhone 4 undeniably tempting—unlimited data is a start—like selling it for half-price. But the only deal you should consider is one that'll let you upgrade to the next iPhone almost immediately, like a one-year contract. I wouldn't count on anything too wild, though, because Verizon is the most conservative carrier of the four—it's got the best combined network and hardware position now, and it knows it. Remember? It's Verizon who passed up the iPhone in the first place, not the other way around.

It's virtually guaranteed that the next iPhone will come to AT&T and Verizon at the same time (there might be some gap, but it will likely be small—after all, Apple doesn't want to hose their 100 million potential new customers). So if you're on Verizon, itching to the pull the trigger, do yourself a favor. Just wait. You've held on for years. What's a few more months?

I'm pretty stoked for the announcement ... but I agree, I wouldn't go breaking contracts if you're on AT&T and what not until Apple does their announcement in June. All of this to be honest with you just makes my head spin. I don't have an iPhone. I am a DIE HARD mac head owning my macbook pro, ipod touch, ipad, even kick it old school with my green screen mini ... but I also worked in sales for Verizon back in the day, and have had their service since 94. Literally, it was pac-bell at the time ... and my parentals made my bro and I have a cell phone to reach us when we were at the mall. So lame ... hated it. I dunno, I'm stickin with my Droid for now. I need it for my OWLE to be able to enhance the livestreaming that I do, and the rest is just kinda meh. I'm the last one to rush out and get something when it is released. I'm a 2.0 kinda gal, I like to let other people figure out the kinks and problems first. Won't see me getting one when the announcement is made. But stoked either way! Go Verizon and Apple for makin whoopie!! So hot ...

Watch out #CES: I've got too much soul for the digital world!!

Whoop whoop! T-minus 24 hours til I head to Vegas for CES!!! YAYYYYY!!!!

So so soooo excited!

I'm still broke as a joke, although, THANK YOU TNTML nerdy lover for the offer of your incredible donation, it looks like that will be changing in the very near future.

Here's how I am getting to CES and staying there til Sunday without being able to afford a damn thing.

First off, the ticket is free ... I filed for a press pass a few weeks back.

My ride is coming from an el duderino that I met last year at CES while I was livestreaming. At the time, we were very very very new - barely 60 days old ... I had told him, TNTML isn't a blog it's a revolution. He believed my passion, and dug my ideas, dug the concept - yada yada ... either way, we've stayed Facebook besties, and he's flying into LAX from Germany and he's renting a car and we're going to drive out tomorrow night.

I don't honestly know where I am going to be staying for Wednesday and Thursday night ... but I'm fairly confident if I just stay present, someone, somewhere, will be able to help me with 67" of carpet space. Friday to Sunday, I have an offer from a friend who gets hooked up with social rewards - so he gets a free room, and offered to let me kick it. Basically for CES, you're going to so many meetings, and such - that all you very literally need is a place to fall asleep and shower. CES is a hustle - you just have to know how to work it.

For food - I crash as many continental breakfasts as possible. I keep an ongoing record in my head of which hotels have the best ones in Vegas, and I can usually stash away an extra muffin or so to keep my blood sugar up. See, I'm cute - and very unassuming. People never ever ever think that I am up to trouble because I look so damn innocent. Little do they know ... looks can be deceiving, but who's to say I'm not the one doing the deceiving. MWAHAHAHAHA!! =)

And then Sunday, I'll either come back with my friend, or worst case scenario I know there's a bus that leaves from the Stratosphere which for $30 I can take to get back to LA (thanks mom and dad again for the Christmas money).

As far as business cards go, I have a few left from the Fiesta Movement ... yes, even this year my business cards were corporate sponsored - but instead I am just going to have a sign on the back of my backpack which will have our official hashtag:

#NerdsUnite & find me on www.talknerdytomelover.com- I'm live right now!

I am going to actively encourage people to take pictures of me or the sign instead of handing them a business card. Do you have any idea how many business cards you get at CES? Literally hundreds if not thousands ... but how many pictures do you take? That way too, you're captured inside this person's phone. Who knows where that could go ... just makes it all easy like Sunday morning.

Dude, I got SUCHHHHHHHH a crowd last year it was insane, and the best part was - HAHAH I wasn't even trying. BWAHAHAHAH!! I feel like Mr. Burns with this shit eating grin, man. Sex sells ... own it. I got stopped on the streets of Hollywood a week after CES last year, and this guy was like weren't you the chick that was doing something with her phone at CES. Yep, the best part about livestreaming is that I don't even have a crew, I do it all myself ... entirely for free ... from my cell phone.

So stay tuned guys. I'll post the livestreaming schedule tomorrow. This is entirely for you all - I have a couple keynotes I wanna see ... but I literally want you all to get to see anything you want to at CES. So, tell me what booths to go to, who to talk to ... etc. I'm blessed enough to have this platform, so let's do some cool shit with it.

Rock on nerds ... rock on!
