My first day in a #SpiritHood

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @JenSquard

I got my SpiritHood yesterday.  Of course I loves it.  It's awesome, and so crazy warm that it makes my brain feel melty.  And it's a great bargaining tool for my kids - I just say do this and I'll let you wear my SpiritHood.  My daughter calls it a Mane Wolf, whatever that means.  It is going to come in super handy on photo shoots since Colorado can feel like the arctic tundra sometimes.  Well not really, I'm just a bit of a winter puss.

Anywhoozle, I took my momsie out for a photo shoot this morning (to not only celebrate my badass new camera but also her hotness), and I wore the hood (cute shadow, right?).  I wore it to pick up the camera, too.  Then I wore it to lunch at Subway.  And guess what?  No one was impressed.  Except me.

See, I live in this weird town.  It's full of oil riggers, meth heads and conservatives.  It's way Republican up in here.  People just do the same thing over and over, and there is this super smalltown mentality, even though there are over 100,000 people living here.  I got some really dumb looks.  Which is sooooo stupid because I look friggin awesome in this bad boy.  So I did what I always do when people give me weird looks (I rock a mohawk and have three kids at a young age - it happens ALL.THE.TIME).  I started acting like people were sooooooo jealous of me.  I looked at them like they were sad little puppies that just weren't cool enough to have a dope ass SpiritHood.  Oh you sad silly people, I feel sorry for you.  HAHA!  Totally works.

Check 'em out - they really are super rad.

@JenSquard's Life + November = #EPIC

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @JenSquard

Holy poopsicles.  This month has been...stunning.  Literally, I don't even know how to react to how awesome November was for me.  You have to understand, this has been a rough year.  Last year was hard, too.  We have had zero dollars for a way long time, like a year and a half, so we haven't been able to do much of anything.  No vacations, no day trips, new clothes for anyone, upgrades to my business, dates, presents....nothing but the basics.  Which is fine, we live pretty simply and don't need a lot, but you need a little bit of excitement in your life or you tend to go nuts.  Meh.

Anywhoozle, November has been amazing.  Brian (the hubbard) got a new job, which not only means steady hours and predictable income, but he will be doing something he loves.  He was starting to feel pretty lame not using his degree and not making any cashola.  So he is soooo happy in his new position.  We also came into some unexpected money a few times this month.  Which means we get to pay off all of our bills, and buy some things that make life easier, and improve my business.  I'm a pro photographer, (click here and see for yourself!) so a new camera and a nice lens = necessary.  And a computer that works all the time = no brainer.  So here is a rundown of all of the rad crap that came into my life this month:

So thank you Brian, thank you Mom, thank you @JenFriel, and thank you universe.  My little heart is happy and I am making changes in my life.  Like big time.  Starting now.  No wait....okay, now.

#nowplaying: What's My Name - Rhinanna

Wow, for reals.  This weekend went GREAT!  So super great.  The inlaws that I was nervous about seeing (checky check out the reasons here) were really nice to me.  Like way nice.  It was great, and they acted like nothing ever happened.  I got a little bit of an apology, and they thanked me for even coming.  I think they just appreciated that I was willing to come and put it all behind us and wasn't just a total doucher.

So glad that Thanksgiving is over.  Now I can go back to just living my life and pretending that things are normal.  The best part of every day is watching my 3-year-old daughter dirty dance in her princess dress.  I swear, I have no idea where she learned these dance moves...some friends from high school say it must be genetic.  I don't know, but damn, that girl's got it going on!

And yeah, life has just been so good lately that I feel like something shitty might happen anytime.  That's a terrible way to think about things, I know, but that is totally how this year has gone - not much has been right.  But damn, everything has been so good the last couple of weeks!  let me break it down: I ordered my SpiritHood, I didn't have to cook Thanksgiving, Brian got an unexpected vacation payout from his old job, my mom gave me some $$ to buy the sweetest camera EVERRRRRR, and my Grandpa just handed me $200 just because.  Right???  Things are so good!  I am finally feeling like we can actually start to enjoy life and stop just surviving.

And while I thought I would just die without internet this weekend, it was actually kind of nice.  I zigged and zagged my way through emails and FB on my phone, so I wasn't totally cut off, just enough to make me miss it.  Absense makes the heart grow fonder, and I feeling quite fond of you right now, internet.  Why don't we light some vanilla mint candles, poor a couple glasses of something fermented, and get sweaty on each others faces.

#KTHXBYE
