#OMG: We have a new co-editor

Alrite! After a WEEK long search across the ENNNTTIIIIRRRREEEEEEEEE interwebz, I can FINALLY announce that the search for TNTML's co-editorship has come to an end. Yep, right here. One nerd. ONE SINGLE NERD by the name of STEVE.

HIT IT DUDE!!

First, I like to start off by yelling on top of a mountain, Boomshakalaka! Second, I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity to work with Jen "TalkNerdyToMeLover" Friel. I've followed her blog, twitter, youtubes and every other piece of social media for quite some time now, not like the creepy "I find you" follow, but the kind that's normally and socially acceptable for me being some random guy from the internet. Which I guess is still kind of creepy, but I digress. When I heard she was looking for a co-editor to help her out with her blog, I leapt, literally leapt at the opportunity. Once I came back down from my 4 inch vertical leap, I applied with all of my qualifications, or lack thereof, as to why I was awesome, nerdy and perfect for the position.

So now you're probably wondering what ARE my qualifications for this highly sought after position. Well, I'm glad you asked, one, I'm a huge self proclaimed nerd. Huge. In fact, the reason I found her blog in the first place was because I was doing a google search for "Nerd Lover", and guess who shows up!? Every nerdy guy's dream girl, an attractive, funny, witty, can operate a computer, girl who openly LOVES nerds!? WHAT the WHAT!?  I was sold. So yes, I consider myself to be a nerd. My license plate used to actually say Nerd, that was before I rammed that car into the back of another car, which I don't recommend doing.  I'm a software engineer by day, even nerdier by night. I wear glasses, know vector calculus, and refuse to date a girl that can't .zip a file. My hobbies include being awkward, video games, blogging, photoshopping, volunteering, being awesome, being awkward again, and bacon.

I've have a B rate blog where I write about the awkward, embarrassing and hilarious misadventures of being 27, single and online dating in San Diego. You can read about it here: http://www.SingleSteve.com

One of the deals I made with Jen is that I'd like to stay anonymous? If that's possible? I'm Ron Burgundy? My blog is written from an anonymous perspective because I'm just that embarrassed about my online dating adventures. Not really, but it allows for a less filtered honest perspective. She agreed to keep me anonymous, so you probably won't see any pictures of my face anywhere on this site. She also agreed to name her first born Optimus Prime for all my help. No seriously, she did.

I'm excited about this opportunity, and look forward to working with Jen! #NerdsUnite

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHA!! Omg this is making my life. Dude, Single Steve is HIILLAARIOUUUSSS!! I went through literally all of his posts yesterday - and dude, he gets it. He keeps it real without being too real circa national geographic giving birth type shiznat. You know what I mean jelly bean? Cray cray. Super stoked man, I'll get his bio up and all that stuffers. But seriously, the applications were AWESOME!! This was a supppperrrrrr tough choice. I'll make sure to get back to everyone this afternoon, and hey man - just because this one position didn't work out for other peeps, I'd still love to review some of your stuff to see if there's something else we can do. Me = all game. So, bring it!

Thanks again guys from the depths of my everything. It was incredibly humbling seeing the response. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

My farewell to #lifecasting

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @JenSquard

After questioning whether TNTML was the right fit a little while ago, @JenFriel told me I should take a break - just get my thoughts back in order, get out of my head, and unleash my feelings on my own blog.  So I did that - I wrote about why I thought lifecasting here was a strange fit here.  I took some time not only away from lifecasting and posting, but from social media in general.  I still updated a little bit, and kept up with things, but I spent far less time on the interwebs, and social media in general, than I normally do.  I took this last weekend off completely - headed into the mountains away from technology, and did a hard reset of my brain.  I came back today prepared to pick up where I left off, and found this:

That is where my link used to be.  I’ve been replaced.  I’m fine with that, I really am.  This is Jen’s site and brand, and she can definitely do what she wants with it.  But I guess I just thought that I deserved an email...or a text....or something.  I haven’t talked to Jen since I wrote about feeling funky, and while she wants to make sure that I know this isn’t a punishment for saying how I feel, I sure feel like it is.  Actually, it feels like I’m in middle school again, and my best friend found a cooler girl to be friends with, so she just completely stopped talking to me.  Now I’m just waiting for the rumors that I pee the bed.  I am now very much aware that “let loose on your own Tumblr, I can’t be offended”  and “take a break and come back refreshed” means something different than I thought.

I love lifecasting, but TNTML has changed a TON, especially in the last several months.  I’m not comfortable here anymore, and I know it’s because I’m not 100% proud of the site.  I understand that that doesn’t really concern me, and that I am a good fit because I am so different...but putting the most intimate details of your life into the world is hard enough.  You also have to understand that I jumped into this with no lifecasting or blogging experience - and that is crazy.  It’s a hard skill to learn on the fly, and I firmly believe that you can’t ask someone to do something differently if you are unwilling to give them any feedback or guidance.

So I guess this is goodbye.  I have some ideas jumbling in my head for a blog of my own, so watch for that.  I’ll probably keep contributing here, just a lot less frequently, and a lot less personally.  I would like to thank you all for the support, and for allowing me the platform - this has been a great chapter of my life, and I have really enjoyed my time here.  I’m still a nerd, I’m still a mom, and I’m still awesome.

As always, I’m a big fan of communication:

#Tomorrow: TNTML Goes @StupidForMovies

So, we're going to be hosting a BUNCH more screenings over here due to the success of our latest screening of The Mechanic. I think that's great and all for everyone that lives in LA, I can hook 'em up with free passes and a chance to see the flick before it comes out to the rest of the world. But let's face it, that is super shitty for the rest of you, and kinda rubs it in your face. I don't like that ... at all.

Until I am able to host multiple screenings in various cities (we're still a lean operation, yo!) - TNTML is going to be teaming up with @StupidForMovies and offering a chance for you to see a flick, and then every Thursday skype in and chat about it. The best part is - you don't even have to go anywhere!!!! I'm going to embed the feed directly on the site! Interacting and engaging is what we're all about, clearly! HA! I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how excited I am about this. The hosts are super super super smart, really know their shit, and dude, their shows are SUPER entertaining. This is such an honor!!

I'll be talking about it more on air tomorrow with 'em when we go live at 8PM PST. Feel free to tune in, it'll be in a post that will say "broadcasting live" so you won't be able to miss it.

Have you done this week's homework?

OMMMMGGGG I love me some Reality Bites. For reals, I've never had an intelligent conversation about this flick, so um yeah - this is making my life.

Watch Tonight & Tune in! Tomorrow 8PM PST!!

Live right here, like right here right here, you don't even have to leave because that would be lame and lame is like the kid that used to make spitballs during English class no one liked him but he took up space and air and stuff. Am I still talking? Shut up Jen.

Check out more from Stupid For Movies over yonder!

Good shit, man!

#Randombling: That Nerdy Chick

Randombling: A 5 minute long unedited random stream of consciousness produced by a nerd for nerds.

#nowplaying: Girl Talk - This is the remix

I am still nursing my slightly unhealthy obsession with Girl Talk. DUDEEE! This album gets me so stoked to be alive, yes even MORE so than usual!! BAHHH!!!

Got the most fanschmastically awesome email last night on Facebook from the Hollywood god. He asked me to call him today to discuss the best way to proceed with the TNTML script. There is an interactive component to the feature, and the god thinks that it would be better suited for TV. I'm a total go with the flow kinda chick. At first, this WHOLE THING started off as just an idea for a web series. I didn't even remotely plan for any of the awesomeness that has been the last 5 months to even happen. That was all just going with the flow ... there's just something about this dude though that just makes me trust him. I know he's a big deal and all - but I can sniff out bullshit in 20 seconds. He's just genuinely on top of his shit. Clearly, one would assume you would have to be to be in his position, but remember this is Hollywood we're talking about. If this duderino says its best suited for TV, then that is what it will be.

I just want to tell stories. I'll leave it up to the uber big wigs to figure out the rest of all that snazzy jazzy stuff. It's crazy how much you have to let things be when it comes to the creative process. I just saw a trend, said this would work - the person I was going to have do it was roomies with a screenwriter who said no this isn't a web series, it's a movie. It then got turned into a treatment, was then presented to me, I totally dug it, about a few weeks later we had a meeting with a big director, he dug it, 4 drafts and re-writes later we had a story ... and now it's going to be reformatted for TV, and who knows where its going to stop and how many more incarnations its going to have. It's not that I don't care, it's that I care SO much that I'm letting it all happen. I know my bottom lines, and I'm incredibly stern where I want to be because frankly, I have nothing to lose ... so yeah! I just want what makes the most sense for the project as a whole. That's all that I really care about.

Watching all of this unfold is just so fascinating to me. Documenting it all just makes it that much more real. Wow!!

greatest.time.to.be.alive.ever.ever.ever.ever.

And that's all. I'll keep you all posted. Just kinda can't believe this is all happening. The fact that this man is even helping me is just wow ... awesome sauce! This doesn't normally happen!! BLESS BEING A NEERRRDDD!!!! BAHH!!!

So so so grateful. #Namaste
